John Clark MacDonald, 83, 66 W. High St., New Concord, died at 6:05 a.m. 
Thursday (Dec. 9) at Good Samaritan Medical Ceneter, Zanesville, following a 
three-week illness.

A well-known farmer in the New Concord area, he was born Oct. 6, 1888 in Monroe 
Twp. near Otsego, the son of David H. and Martha Belle Duff MacDonald.  He was 
a member of the College Drive United Presbyterian Church where he served as an 
elder many years and was active in church organizations.

Mr. MacDonald spent hus early life in farming, moving to a New Concord are farm 
in 1939.  He retired in 1966 and moved to New Concord.

In addition to his wife, Mr. MacDonald leaves two daughters, Mrs. Isabel Hecker 
of Columbus and Mrs. May Russell of New Concord R. D. 2; three sons, David 
Elmer of Circleville, Robert L. of Fairview Park and W. Edgar of Monroe, Ohio; 
a sister Mrs. Margaret Poland of 821 N. 12th St., Cambridge; and 14 
grandchildren and two greatgrandchildren.  Three brothers are deceased.

Funeral services will held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at College Drive UP Church by 
Dr. Carrol Wood.  Burial will be in New Concord Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Mock Funeral Home here from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday and 2 to 
4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday.
