KIRK IS TAKEN FROM LIFE FRIDAY EVENING WELL KNOWN REIDENT OF RIX MILLS SUCCUMBS RITES SUNDAY AT CHURCH James W. Kirk, 79, a well known resident of Rix Mills, died at 5 o'clock Friday evening at his home after a brief illness. Although he had been ailing for two years, his last illness was ob but two weeks duration. Mr. Kirk was a native of Pennsylvania, but lived most of his life in Muskingum county. In 1884, he was married to Miss Margaret Lorimer and in October they observed their 49th wedding anniversary. He was a member of the Rix Mills U. P. church and is survived by his widow at home; two daughters, Mrs. Robert McCall, New Concord, Mrs. Herbert Walker, Bridgeport; five sons, Raymond Kirk, assistant postmaster at New Concord; Harry Kirk, principal of a junior high school at Cambridge; Paul Kirk, an instructor in Cumberland school; Samuel and Walter at home; also nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock Sunday afternoon at the Rix Mills U. P. church and burial will be made in Salt Creek cemetery by Rev. L. Mock.
