Orndorff, 94, of Norwich, a retired farmer, died at 3;30 a.m. Sunday (Sept. 6) at Bethesda Hospital after a five month illness. He had been hospitalized five days. Born in Perry Township, June 4, 1876, a son of John Thomas and Nancy Jane Garner Orndorff, he had been a lifelong resident of Muskingum County. He was married to the former Anna Oliver, Aug. 22, 1906, who died Dec. 27, 1969. Surviving are four sons, Louis Orndorff of 1741 Chandlersville road, Grant Orndorff of East Fultonham, personnel manager of Columbia Cement Company, John Orndorff of Clyde, Verne Orndorff of Winchester, Ky., and Maurice Orndorff of Sandusky; two sisters, Miss Olive Orndorff of 1027 Greenwood avenue and Mrs. Lulu Myers of Polk, Neb.; 12 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren. A daughter, Mrs. Dorothy Ross, a son, Wayne and three sisters are deceased. Friends may call at Shirer and Son Funeral Home in Adamsville 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with Rev. Stanton Smith of East Fultonham officiating. Burial will be in Salem United Methodist Cemetery near Sonora. Pallbearers will be Gary Orndorff, William Schilder, Donald Browning, Samuel Orndorff, William Orndorff and Joe Lindsey.
