The following is from, Zanesville Public Library's Obituary File; dated 25 Nov 1964: Mrs.Bertha Talbot "NEW LEXINGTON-Mrs. Bertha M. Talbot, 51, of Newark, a native of New Lexington, died at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Newark City Hospital after a short illness. "She was born in New Lexington, Nov. 23, 1913, a daughter of John A. and Martha Corder Carney. She had lived in Newark 17 years where she was a member of St. Francis deSales Church. "Surviving are her husband, Edward T. Talbot; two sons, Richard E. and James E. Talbot, both of Newark; six brothers, Lewis, Lester, Clarence, Fred and Homer Carney, all of New Lexington and Charles Talbot of Wasilla, Alaska; three sisters, Mrs. Phillip Allen, Mrs. Goldie Talbot and Mrs. Edward Funk, all of New Lexington; and four grandchildren. "The body was taken to Egan Funeral Home in Newark where friends may call after 7 p.m. today. "The body will be taken to Chute-Belford-Wiley Funeral Home at New Lexington where friends may call after 1 p.m. Thursday. "Services will be conducted at 10 p.m. Friday at St. Joseph Church near New Lexington. Burial will be in New Lexington Cemetery."
