Lindsay" page xxxi Katherine Mandusic McDonell lists Dr. Lindsays tenure as a Contract Surgeon. _________________________________________________________________ _ In a draft (copyrighted) sent by Katherine Mandusic McDonell in Feb. 1980 she states that Dr. Lindsay joined the army during the Civil War and offered medical services to Rebel prisoners at Camp Morton and in 1864 he was the acting assistant surgeon to the 28th Regiment, Colored Indiana Volunteers stationed at Camp Fremont in Indiananpolis. _________________________________________________________________ __ Office of the Medical Director, District of Indiana Indianapolis, March 26th 1864 Colonel I have the honor herewith to transmit for approval Contract with Dr. Wm. Lindsay dated March 25th. 1864. which bears the following endorsement.
