Declaration For Pension
DECLARATION FOR PENSION
State of Ohio, County of Lawrence, SS:
  On this 14 day of May, A.D. one thousand nine hundred and Twelve personally
appeared before me, a Notary Public within and for the county and State aforesaid,
James W. Joseph who, being duly sworn according to law, declares that he is 66
years of age, and resident of Rappsburg county of Lawrence State of Ohio: and that
he is the identical person who was enrolled at Noble County Ohio, under the name
of James W. Joseph on the 31st day of December, 1863, as a Private, in Co. H, 31 
Regiment Of Ohio Infantry Volunteers in the service of the United States, in the
Civil war, and was honorably Discharged at Near Louisville Kentucky, on the 20
day of July, 1865.
That he also served in the Co. D. 92. Regiment Ohio Infantry Volunteers until
near the close of the war & was transfered to the Co. H. 31st Regiment Ohio
Infantry Volunteers.
That he was not employed in the military or naval service of the United States
otherwise than as stated above.  That his personal description at enlistment
was as follows: Height 5 feet 7 inches; complexion, florid; color of eyes, Gray;
color of hair, Brown; that his occupation was Farmer; that he was born 30th
day of July, 1845, at Noble County Ohio
  That his several places of residence since leaving the service have been as
follows: I went to Washington County Ohio imediatley after I was discharged,
about 1868 I moved to Lawrence County Ohio, and have lived here ever since.
  That he is pensioner under certificate No. 455.039.
That his post-office address is Rappsburg, county of Lawrence, State of Ohiomkj
