He was born at Dover (should read Caldwell) Noble County, Ohio, on March 4, 1864 later came to Arkansas and settled at the old McKee home near Little Elm, where he grew to manhood. He came to visit his children and relatives about the Reunion and spent several days here. The news of his death came as a great shock to everybody here. Mr. McKee was sixty-four years of age. He was a hard working man and as honest as could be. This alone is a great legacy to his children. He was converted in the early part of 1883 and in November joined the Cumberland church. Two pistol shots in the back of his head was the cause of his death, whether they were put there by his own hand or some other, we are not sure. The diseased was married at the age of twenty-five years to Mollie E. Giles in 1890. To this union were born eleven children. Only one has passed into the great beyond (Jenny May Mckee). His children are located as follows: Mrs. Nellie Morrison, wife of Luther Morrison, near Illinois Chapel (AR); Mrs Della Morrison, wife of Will Morrison, also near Illinois Chapel (AR). Mrs. J. C. Jones and Mrs. Winnie McKinzie, Los Angeles, California; Mrs Hurbert Terpening (Ruby), near Walnut Grove (AR); Garland and Oren McKee, near Illinois Chapel (AR) and Misses Melva and Sylvia are at home with their mother; Mrs. Jewell, ... " Note: (rest of obit is cut off and not in possession of submitter). (Jewell was Mrs. Otis Parris) (Will or Bill McKee's death was ruled a suicide in spite of the "two shots to the back of the head", his step-son was tried for his murder and not convicted).
