Mason Kkmason@shianet.org March 22, 2000 ******************************************************** Times-Gazette Bertha Fender Bertha "Boots" Fender, 88, of Hillsboro, died Wednesday, march 25, 1998, at Clinton Memorial Hospital, Wilmington. Born Jan. 12, 1910, in Enfield, Ill., she was the daughter of Paris Ransom Robinson and Ioa Jane (Hayes)Robinson. She was a member of the Union Church of Christ. Mrs. Fender is preceded in death by her husband, Carey N. Fender; four brothers and five sisters. She is survived by two sons, Stanley Fender and Wesley Fender, both of Hillsboro; a sister, Mary Warthen of Jonesboro, Ark.; seven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, three step-grandchildren and five step-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be at the Union Church of Christ Saturday at 2 p.m. Pastor Derek Stump will officiate. The body will lie in state from 1-2 p.m. at the church. Visitation will be held today, 6-9 p.m., at the Rhoads-Edgington Funeral Home, Hillsboro.
