Snyder Samuel Clinton Snyder died on May 2, 1998 at his home near Sugar Tree Ridge where he had farmed for 46 years. He was born on July 26, 1924, in Xenia. He is survived by his wife, Audrey Mae (Williams)Snyder, whom he married on Oct. 31, 1942, at Xenia; sons, Samuel (Daun) Snyder, James Clinton (Rachel) Snyder, Oris H. (Mary) Snyder, Thomas Michael (Janice) Snyder and Everett William (Lisa) Snyder; daughters, Andrea Celestine (Glenn) Rehkamp, Ramona Diane (Timothy) Mootx and Mary Ann (Chris) Fulton; 21 grandchildren; five step- grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; special friend, Keith Surber and Carolyn; sisters, Pauline Grooms of Hillsboro and Alice Hayslip of Wilmington; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Oris H. Snyder, and mother, Mina H. (Avey) Snyder; brothers, twins, Lawrence and Clarence and John Snyder; and a grandson, Kenneth Charles Watson III. He was a member of the Sugar Tree Ridge Church of Christ and Highland County Cattleman's Association. A veteran of the U.S. Army serving in World War II, proud to have served in the 301st Artillery 94th division in General Patton's 3rd Army serving in England, France, Lunenburg, Germany and Czechoslovakia. (SFC) Visitation will be at the Hope Miller-Thompson Funeral Home, 241 East Main St., Hillsboro, on Tuesday from 4 till 8 p.m. The funeral will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the Sugar Tree Ridge Church of Christ. Burial will follow in the Sugar Tree Ridge Cemetery, with military graveside services rendered by the Highland County Honor Guard.
