Mason kkmason@shianet.org April 17, 2000 *********************************************************************** Unknown newspaper May 19, 1998 Clayton Vanzant Clayton Vanzant, 83, of Rainsboro, Ohio, died Monday, May 18, 1998 at Highland District Hospital. He was born Sept. 23, 1914 in Highland County, the son of John and Bertha Mae (Washburn) Vanzant. He was a member of the Boston United Methodist Church, Highland County Coon Hunter's Association, a Paint Township ASCS committeemen, a farmer and had been a semi driver for Red Top Brewery for several years. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Vanzant, on Aug. 31, 1989; and two brothers, Wilber and Ralph Vanzant. Survivors include three daughters and one son-in-law, Kathleen Vanzant of Hillsboro, Carol Ann Stafford of Rainsboro and Michelle Vanzant (Jon) Salyer of Hillsboro; three sisters, Lora Daugherty of Zanesville, Lucille Mason of Hillsboro and Evelyn Rittenhouse of Hillsboro; and 10 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Friday at 10 a.m. at the St. Mary's Catholic Church with Father Stanley Luehrmann officiating. Burial will follow in the Hillsboro Cemetery. Friends may call Thursday from 4-8 p.m. at the Hope Miller-Thompson Funeral Home in Hillsboro.
