William L. Vance
   William L. "Bill" Vance, 70, of Hillsboro, died Monday, May 4, 1998, at the 
University of Cincinnati Medical Center.
   He was born May 25, 1927, in Hillsboro, the son of the late Clarence and 
Rachel (Caldwell) Vance.
   He was a member of the Hillsboro First Baptist Church and was an Army veteran 
of the Korean War.
   His survivors include his wife, Betty M. (Yankey) Vance, to whom he was 
married on Oct. 26, 1947; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Ralph (Debbie) 
Vance and Larry (Sandy) Vance of Hillsboro and Jack Vance at home; and three 
daughters and sons-in-law, Linda (Larry) Sprinkle of Hillsboro, Bonnie (Terry) 
Davis of Lynchburg and Cindy (Kevin) Gibson of Waynesville. Also surviving are 
13 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; a brother, Clarence "Bud" (Ruth) 
Vance, Jr. of Hillsboro; and a sister, Isabelle Pratt of Findlay.
   In addition to his parents, Mr. Vance was preceded in death by a brother, 
Howard, and two sisters, Nancy Rine and Betty Chaney.
   Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Turner & Son Funeral Home 
in Hillsboro where Pastors Larry W. Stewart and Kelly McInerney will co-
officiate. Burial will be in the Dunkard Ridge Cemetery. Friends may call at the 
funeral home on Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m.
