Ethel A. Yankey
   Ethel A. Yankey, 75, of Hillsboro, died Saturday, June 6, 1998, at Oakland 
Nursing Center in Hillsboro.
   She was born May 29, 1923, in Buford, the daughter of John and Thelma Ruth 
(Barker) Hicks.
   She was a member of the Allensburg Church of Christ.
   She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Johanna "Joby" and Ron 
Thompson of Hillsboro; son and daughter-in-law, Harold "Butch" and Shirley 
Higgins of Seattle, Wash.; nine grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and 
one great-great-grandchild.
   She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence "Bud" Yankey on April 6, 
1982; her parents, one infant brother and a sister, Betty Marcum.
   Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Turner & Son Funeral Home in 
Hillsboro. Pete Creamer will officiate. Burial will follow in the Locust Grove 
Cemetery.
   Friends may call today from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
