Mason kkmason@shianet.org April 24, 2000 *********************************************************************** Times-Gazette April 11, 1998 Carl Achor Carl Achor, 86, of Hillsboro, died Thursday, April 9, 1998, at Heartland of Hillsboro. He was born Feb. 22, 1912, in Union Township (Highland County), the son of Charles and Maude (Thatcher) Achor. He was a retired farmer and a member of Dunn's Chapel Church. He is survived by one daughter, Virginia (Ginnie) Reno of Troy; two sons and daughters-in-law, Ivan E. and Carlene Achor of Hillsboro and Richard Achor of Hillsboro; five grandchildren, Janet (Steve) Davis of Wilmington, Sue (Don) Webster of Hillsboro, Lance Reno of Mentor, Mark Reno of Athens and Kristin Reno of Dayton; four great-grandchildren; and one sister-in-law, Hazel Achor of New Vienna. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Lavon (Edingfield) Achor on Dec. 11, 1994, and his brother, Olin Achor. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, April 13, at the Turner & Son Funeral Home in Hillsboro. The Rev. Ron Slater will officiate. Burial will follow in the Dunn's Chapel Cemetery. Friends may call 5-8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to Dunn's Chapel Church, c/o Doris Younker, 5700 U.S. Route 50, Hillsboro.
