Knauff, 70, of Hillsboro, died Sunday, March 8, 1998, at Crestwood Nursing Home in Hillsboro. He was born May 15, 1927, in Adams County, the son of the late Charles and Agnes Marie (Hayslip) Knauff. He was a member of the Peebles Pilgrim Holiness Church. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his step-father; a brother, Wylie Knauff; and a brother-in-law, Cecil Puckett. He is survived by his wife, Jean (Puckett) Knauff; three sons, Fred Knauff of Sinking Spring, John Knauff of Carmel and Mike Knauff of Hillsboro; two daughters and sons-in- law, Kathy and Tom Caldwell of Sinking Spring and Christy and David Snyder of Hillsboro; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Glenn and Nancy Knauff of Jamestown, Charles and Martha Knauff of New Vienna and James and Linda VanPelt; a sister, Irene Puckett of Wilmington; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Inez and Frank McCleese of Peebles, Ruth and Dwight Chaney of Sinking Spring and Kay and Lee Bartley of New Vienna; 13 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren, several brothers-in-law, sisters-in- law and beloved nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Thursday, March 12, at the Locust Grove Wesleyan Tabernacle Church, with Alan Hunt and Greg Cooper co-officiating. Burial will follow in the Locust Grove Cemetery. Friends may call 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at the church. The family suggest memorials to the Locust Grove Wesleyan Tabernacle Church.
