Eleanor K. Simmons
   Eleanor K. Simmons, 82, of Greenfield, died Saturday, March 7, 1998, at 
Fayette Memorial Hospital, Washington C.H.
   Born Sept. 7, 1915, in Clinton County, she was the daughter of Elmer and Ann 
Irene (Purdy) King.
   A homemaker, she was a 1933 graduate of Fairfield High School. She was a 
member of the New Petersburg United Methodist church, the Social Civic Club, New 
Petersburg W.S.C.S., and a long time volunteer at the Greenfield Area Life 
Squad.
   She is survived by her husband, Dean W. Simmons; son and daughter-in-law, 
Roger K. and Faith Ann Simmons of Port Charlotte, Fla.; daughter and son-in-law, 
Joann and Richard Higgins of Bainbridge; grandchildren and spouses, Mike and 
Etta Higgins of Greenfield, Dan and Pat Higgins of Chilicothe, Tom Simmons and 
David Simmons, both of Port Charlotte, Fla., Roger Duane and Susan Simmons of 
Georgia and Missy and Shawn Skaggs of Bainbridge; three great-grandsons and two 
great-granddaughters.
   She was preceded in death by two sons, a brother, two half-sisters and one 
half-brother.
   Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Anderson-Strueve Funeral 
Home, Greenfield, with Troy Villars officiating. Burial will follow in Walnut 
Creek Cemetery, Fayette County. Friends may call at the funeral home from 5-8 
p.m. today.
