Tullis, 81, of Fletcher, a former Highland County resident, died Wednesday at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton. She was born in Highland County Dec. 24, 1916, the daughter of the late Ora and Jennie (Dickey) West. She was married to J. Edward Tullis in June of 1949 and he died in May of 1986. She was a teacher in the Troy school system as a remedial reading teacher for 31 years. She was a member of the Fletcher United Methodist Church, the Troy Chapter of the Eastern Shrine, the Oriental Shrine, the Fletcher Lioness Club, National Retired Teachers Association, American Association of Retired Teachers, Lakelake Golf Club of St. Paris and the Wildflower Country Club of Englewood, Fla. She is survived by one step-son, J. Douglas Tullis of Laura; two step-grandchildren and one step-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by two brothers. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 1 p.m. at the Suber Funeral Home in Fletcher in charge of Revs. David and Marilyn Chivington. Burial will be in the Fletcher Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to the Shriners Children Hospital in Lexington, Ky.
