Mason kkmason@shianet.org April 24, 2000 *********************************************************************** Unknown newspaper May 4, 1998 Ethel Whiting Ethel (Morris) Whiting, 87, of Wilmington, died Saturday, May 2, 1998, at the Wilmington Health Care Center in Wilmington. She was born June 11, 1910, in Adams County, the daughter of Smiley Morris and Edith (Cochran) Morris. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lawrence C. Whiting, on Aug. 25, 1971; one son, James Whiting; one daughter, Viola Hartman; one brother, Bill Morris; one grandson, Arthur Hartman; and a great-granddaughter, Dusty Dawn Whiting. Mrs. Whiting had been a member of the Wilmington United Methodist Church. Survivors include three sons, Donald (Wanda) Whiting of Delaware, Roger (Mary) Whiting of New Carlisle and Rick (Shirley) Whiting of Lexington, Ky.; and three daughters, Wyoma Taylor of Wilmington, Joann (Manuel) Reulas of Joshua, Texas, and Marilyn Whiting of Wilmington. Also surviving are two sisters, Cora Hottinger of Wilmington and Irene Waits of Pricetown, as well as 22 grandchildren, 30 great- grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren, and several step-grandchildren. Services will be Thursday, 1 p.m., at the Fisher-Edgington Funeral Home in Wilmington with the Rev. Robert Miller officiating and burial following in the Mowrystown Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday, 7-9 p.m., at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Hospice of Clinton County.
