Couser, 87, of Sinking Spring, died Tuesday, April 7, 1998, at her daughter's home in Xenia. She was born on Sept. 21, 1910, in Dayton, the daughter of George and Ella (Love) Miranda. On Sept. 22, 1928, she married Jacob W. Couser, who preceded her in death on July 9, 1966. She was a charter member of the Grace Brethren Church, Sinking Spring. She retired in 1980 from teaching, having taught at Peebles Junior High and Sinking Spring Elementary. She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Richard and Lorene Couser of Martinez, Ga., and Jim and Nina Couser of Sinking Spring; two daughters and sons-in- law, Barbara and Rufus Blackburn of Xenia and Cheryl and Alan Arment of Tipp City; a daughter-in-law, Shirley Couser of Sinking Spring; 12 grandchildren and 18 great- grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Danny W. Couser, on March 11, 1997. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at the Grace Brethren Church in Sinking Spring. Bruce MacDowell officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Friends may call 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Wylie-Thompson Funeral Home in Sinking Spring. The family suggests memorials be made to the Grace Brethren Church, Sinking Spring.
