Minzler, 81, of Lynchburg, died Saturday, April 4, 1998, at Clinton Memorial Hospital. He was born Jan. 2, 1917, in Lynchburg, the son of Granville J. and Elizabeth (Wiedeman) Minzler. He was a retired machinist at Milacron. Prior to working at Milacron, he was the superintendent of waterworks for the village of Lynchburg and served on the village council. He was a member of the Lynchburg Church of Christ and the New Vienna High School Class of 1935. He and his son operated Minzler's Sales and Service, a lawn mower, chain saw and small engine store in Lynchburg. He was an Army veteran of World War II. Survivors include his wife, Bernadine (Young) Minzler, to whom he was married on May 10, 1937; a daughter, Kay Martin of Milford; a son, John Minzler of Lynchburg; five grandchildren, Bill and Bob Martin, Cindy Smith, Michael Minzler and Mindy Wills; 13 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Jean Baugh of Wilmington. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Elizabeth Ann. Funeral services are scheduled for Tuesday, April 7, at 2 p.m., at the Davis-Turner Funeral Home in Lynchburg, with Robert Stevens officiating. Burial with military rites by the Highland County Honor Guard will be in the Lynchburg Masonic Cemetery.
