Montavon, 61, of Greenfield, died Friday, June 5, 1998, at Mount Carmel Medical Center-West, Columbus. Born Aug. 5, 1936, in Fayette County, he was the son of George A. and Ethel (Smith) Montavon. He had been employed by Johnson Controls, Inc., Greenfield, for 31 years. A graduate of McClain High School, he had attended White Oak Grove United Methodist Church. He is survived by four sisters, Genevieve Whitmer of Washington C.H., Agnes Montavon of Greenfield, Sarah Beauman of Washington C.H. and Darlene McCain of Washington C.H. He was preceded in death by a brother, George Montavon. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Anderson-Strueve Funeral Home, Greenfield. The Rev. Mark Click will officiate. Burial will follow in the White Oak Grove Cemetery, Fayette County. Friends may call at the funeral home from 4-8 p.m. today.
