Muntz, 85, of Kettering, died Sunday, March 29, 1998, at Oak Creek Terrace Nursing Home after a lengthy illness. He was born in Hillsboro on May 2, 1912. He was preceded in death by his parents, Benjamin and Laura (West) Muntz; and two sisters, Sally Meschke and Mary Muntz. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Inez; two sisters, Lydia Phillips of Hillsboro and Rebecca Hatfield of Cincinnati; one brother, Benjamin W. Muntz Jr. of Salem, Ore.; and several nieces and nephews. He was the owner and operator of Muntz Realty for many years, a member of the Scottish Rite Valley of Dayton, Solar Lodge No. 730 and the Antioch Temple, both of Dayton; twice Past Patron of Com-Ami Chapter No. 542 O.E.S., member of Dayton Chapter No. 125 O.E.S. and Dayton Shrine No. 13, White Shrine of Jerusalem, Past President of Dayton Eastern Star Assoc. and of Club 19, O.E.S., Past President of Dayton High Twelve International, Past President of Dayton Antioch Seniors and of Kettering and Suburban Senior Citizens, former public relations officer of W.F.A.F.B., and Army veteran of World War II, graduate of Ohio State University and studied law at the University of Miami, Miami, Fla., a long-time active member of the Fairview Church of Christ, Fairview, and had been involved with the newspaper business in Highland and Clinton counties in his earlier years. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 1, 11 a.m., from the Tobias Funeral Home, Far Hills Chapel, 5471 Far Hills Ave., Dayton. The Rev. Walter Brent will officiate. Interment will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Barnes Cemetery, Fairview (near Hillsboro). Friends may call Wednesday one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Ohio Parkinson Foundation in Mr. Muntz's memory.
