Dale Pence, 94, of Springfield, Ohio, died Friday, May 15, 1998, at the Eaglewood Care Center. He was born October 24, 1903 in Jackson Township, Ohio, the son of James Della and Louie Ethel (Hook) Pence. He was retired from Davidson Chevrolet where he worked as an auto mechanic. He was also a member of the Donnelsville Lutheran Church and enjoyed canning and restoring furniture. He is survived by one son, Dean Elliot of Silver Springs, Nevada; two brothers, Marion and Sylvian Pence; four grandchildren and spouses, Mark Pence of Silver Springs, Nevada, Mike and Julie Pence of Springfield, Jeff and Rita Pence of South Vienna, and Jon and Tammy Pence of Brewton, Alabama; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Zetta Pence; and four brothers, Walter, Pearl, Paul and Frank Pence. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Richards Raff & Dunbar Memorial Home, 838 E. High St., Springfield. Burial will follow in the Terre Haute Cemetery. Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
