Banks, 92, of Hillsboro, died Tuesday, May 5, 1998, at his residence. He was born June 3, 1905, in Rockcastle County, Ky., the son of John and Lucy (Combs) Banks. He was an electrician in the maintenance department for General Motors for 26 years and retired in 1968. He served as the pastor at Bethel Baptist Church in Franklin for 19 years. His wife, Julia, preceded him in death in 1985. He is survived by three sons, Luther, Glenn, and Kenneth, all of Hillsboro; four daughters, Thelma Throckmorton of Leesburg, Norma Ogan and Edna Jones, both of Hillsboro, and Joan Hall of Franklin; 17 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be Friday at 2 p.m. at the Unglesby-Anderson Funeral Home, 1357 E. Second St., Franklin, with the Rev. James Reed officiating. Burial will be in Springboro Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 5-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
