She was born in Darien, N.Y., Oct. 30, 1850, was married to R.R. Strong June 2, 1887, and the few short years of married life have been happily spent in Medina. In May last she with her husband united with the Congregational church, and has since lived a consistent Christian, and when November, a darling baby girl came to brighten the home, her cup of happiness seemed full. It soon became evident that the frail body was wasting away although everything medical skill and loving hearts could do was done, she gradually failed. A few days before her death she was informed that her disease was fatal. The struggle between life and death was severe, but soon, while talking with her beloved pastor, by divine grace she was enabled to say with perfect resignations, "Yes, if the Lord wants me I can and will give my family up." From that moment her faith never wavered, and she talked of death as calmly as one talks of going to sleep, frequently saying, "Do not feel bad when I am gone. If it is the Lord's will I would like to live, but his will be done. I am so happy." Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Mr. Nichols at the Congregational Church Sunday, Feb. 7. Let us again learn in the truest sense "to die is gain". CARD OF THANKS We wish to return thanks to the neighbors and friends who so kindly assisted us in ministering to the wants of our loved one in her last hours. Ruez R. Strong, aged 69 years, one month, 17 days. Funeral at Congregational church, conducted by Rev. W. J. Drew, Feb 23 at 2pm; burial at Spring Grove Cemetery. Medina County Gazette, Feb 22, 1924, pg 1, column 2: DEATH OF OLD CITIZEN OF MEDINA Ruez Russell STRONG, a resident of Medina for the past 40 years, died of pneumonia at this home, 221 South Elmwood street, Wednesday. Funeral services will be held at the Congregational church Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock, conducted by his pastor, Rev. W.J. Drew. Mr. Strong was highly esteemed in the community. He was born in Marilla, N.Y. , and was 69 years, one month and 17 days old when he died. He has been in the employ of the A.I. Root Company almost all the time since coming to Medina. He was married to Miss Estella VADER of Medina, and besides the widow leaves two sisters, Mrs. T.D. Brown, of Akron, and Miss Lizzie Strong, of Medina; and one brother, Homer L. Strong, of Wooster. Medina County Gazette, Feb 29, 1924, pg 7, column 3: R. R. STRONG Ruez Russell Strong, was born January 3, 1855, in Marilla, Erie County, New York; and departed this life Feb. 20, 1924, in Medina. He was united in marriage to Miss Carrie E. Burr of Darien, N.Y., June 2, 1887, who died February 5, 1892. On September 26, 1893, he was married to Miss Estella L. Vader, of Marilla, N.Y., who, after long years of happy wedded life, remains to mourn the departure of a most faithful, kind and devoted husband. He was reared in a Christian home, which, as he grew older, resulted in a christialized character of such sterling quality, that he was well known for his loyalty for all that is righteous and true, and also for his kindness and untiring devotion to all his family and friends. His was an unselfish, true Christian life; looking to a higher power to guide him in the difficult paths of duty, and trusting always in Jesus Christ, our Savior, he daily sought the Heavenly Father in prayer. Mr. Strong was employed by the A.I. Root company in one department for thirty-eight years; and was a most faithful and loyal worker, with complete harmony always existing between the company and himself.
