Grossman, 55, Cleves, O., and one of the best-known men in the western part of the county, was killed late Wednesday afternoon when the automobile he was driving overturned on Taylor Creek road, about four miles from Cleves. No one witnessed the accident, and it is believed Dr. Grossman was injured an hour before he was found. When discovered his heart was beating faintly, but he died shortly after he was extricated from the machine. Mrs. George Shinkle and her son were driving to their home when they discovered the overturned car. They could not see Dr. Grossman, and thought the occupants of the car had escaped. When they reached their home in Cleves and told of seeing the overturned car it was recalled that Dr. Grossman had not returned to his home. A rescue party went to the scene and found him under the car. His head was crushed. Miss Violet Varley, who lives about a mile from where Dr. Grossman was killed, says she saw the Physician drive by in the machine about an hour before he was found. She said he was running slowly and carefully at the time. Dr. Grossman had owned the machine but a few weeks, and his friends say he had not fully mastered it's operation. It is believed he tried to make a sudden turn on the rough road and that his car skidded and turned over. Coroner Foertmeyer, a close freind of Dr. Grossman, was notified and the Coroner and his Constable, Charles Stagnaro, visited the scene of the accident. The funeral arrangements will be made as soon as Dr. Grossman's daughter arrives from Pittsburgh.
