Obit: Levi Keller, 1889; ["S. K. Ratcliffe" Subject: Noble Co. Obit: Levi Keller, 1889; Elizabeth Shafer Keller, 1887; Margaret N. Obituary: THE CALDWELL PRESS, April 18, 1889: Died, Monday morning, at 4 o'clock, Levi Keller of Mt. Ephraim, aged 93 years and 7 months. Deceased was born on Wheeling Creek, W. Va. At 5 years of age, was taken into Belmont Co. where his father located and where he grew to manhood. Came to this Co., about 1820. In 1821 he erected a house on Smoky Fork of Buffalo Creek in now Center Tp. In 1827 moved to the vicinity of Mt. Ephraim. At the age of 20 he married Elizabeth Shafer, a native of London (Loudoun) County, Va. He reared a family of 11 children, 5 of whom are dead. Deceased was the first clerk of Seneca Tp., acted as Justice of the Peace 6 years. Was a member of the Presbyterian Church in former years." Obituary from THE CALDWELL PRESS, July 21, 1887: "Mt. Ephraim: Died, July 17th, 1887, Mrs. Elizabeth Keller, aged 87 years, 4 months and 17 days. After a sickness of only nine days, the angel of death visited her in his mildest way, from the repose of sleep to the repose of death. The deceased was a daughter of Conrad Shafer; was born in London (Loudoun) County, Virginia, March 1, 1800; came to Ohio with her parents in the year 1813; was united in marriage to Levi Keller, who survived her, in the year 1820. No doubt this was the oldest couple living together in the county. But Grandma Keller's death is only another example of the uncertainty of life, and few were ever better prepared to leave the world than she---upright in her dealings, genial in her manners, and Christian in spirit, she has doubtless gone to a better sphere. (Daylight)" Abstracted from her obituary in the Caldwell, OH, newspaper: Margaret N. Kackley, widow of Dr. J.J. (John Jefferson) Kackley, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. C.B. Carpenter of Chetopa, KS, June 10, 1922. Born Margaret N. Keller on August 14, 1830, she married in 1850. There were 2 children, Mrs. C.B. (Capitolia) Carpenter and Dr. L.B. (Lord Bryon) Kackley. From here (Caldwell) they removed to Mt. Ayer, IA; then to Morrisberg, IA, in 1871; to Bloomfield, AR, and then to Chetopa, KS, in 1873. From the obituary printed in the Caldwell paper: "Mary E. Addis, 100, former Christian minister of the Free Methodist Church, died Monday (Feb. 22, 1982) at Heritage Village Health Center, Gerry, NY. She was born in Noble County on June 21, 1881, daughter of Robert and Susan Shriver Addis. She leaves a number of nieces and nephews. Friends were received at McVay funeral home, where services were conducted. Rev. Herman L. Jones officiated. Burial was in South Olive Cemetery."
