Mrs. Jane Sheppard was born November 4, 1826 in Kent County, England, and peacefully passed away May 8, 1907, being 80 years, 5 months, 12 days of age. She was married to John Sheppard in Brombley, England, October 8, 1843. This union was blessed with 11 children, 10 sons and 1 daughter. John Sheppard, her companion, died October 29, 1894, and 4 sons and 1 daughter preceded her in death. One sister, Mrs. Harriet Dove, of this place, 6 sons, Frederick, Edward, Benjamin, Richard, William, and Charles, 17 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and many friends are felt to mourn their loss. Mrs. Sheppard came from London to this country in 1852 was a resident of Ashland county, 55 years. While in her native country the deceased was member of the Episcopalian Church. Mrs. Sheppard had been in poor health for sometime. She suffered exteremely the last months and weeks of her life. She expressed her trust in God and her hope of eternal life. She was a good mother and grandmother and will be greatly missed by her children and grandchildren as well as her neighbors and friends. Peace be to her memory. Bullock For the past 20 years William H. Bullock had been a moving picture projectionist at the Palace Theatre. He was the son of the late Sam Bullock, pioneer motion picture theatre operator here. Mr. Bullock, 63, died last night at his home at 15610 Pythias Ave. Born in Patterson, N. J., Mr. Bullock came here as a young man. He and his wife, Rose (should read Josephine), who survives him had been married 34 years. He is also suvived by a sister, Mrs. Martha Gifford, and a brother Gordon Y. The body was brought to the family home in this city, Monday. Funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon at 3 o'clock from the Church of Christ, conducted by Elder Leach, of Mount Vernon. Interment will be made in Greenlawn Cemetery. Mr. Palmer is survived by his wife, Mrs. Minnie Palmer; one son, Glendon, a student in Chauncey High School, and five daughters, Mrs. Pauline Watkins, Chauncey; Mrs. Jeanette Tipton, Lynchburg, O.; Mrs. Wilma Brickles, Washington, D. C., and Geneva and Virgene at home. He also leaves two brothers, Isaac Palmer, Chauncey, and Robert Palmer, Trimble, and one sister, Mrs. Anne West, of Pomeroy. Mr. Palmer was a member of the Chauncey City Council and had been a resident of Chauncey for more than 20 years. He was a timber man at Chauncey Mine of the New York Company. Frederick Jones was born in Dephford, England, Feb. 22, 1807; came to America November, 1848, and came to Ashland immediately after and resided here ever since. He died Friday morning, August 9, at 4:15 a.m. at the residence of Jno. Sheppard, his son-in-law. He was 82 years, 5 months and 17 days old; he was a good husband and father and loved by all. He leaves two daughters, fifteen grand children and thirty-nine great grand children to mourn his departure. His wife departed this life six years ago, and eight great grand children have gone to a better land. The funeral took place at the residence of John Sheppard, on Cleveland avenue, and was conducted by the Rev J.S. Felger. Text, Rev. 22-14. Rev.
