She was born on 12 Aug 1780 in Arisdorf in the Canton Basel in Switzerland of the reformed religion. In the yeaar 1798 she married in the before mentioned village Heinrich Keller, and in the year 1802 they came to this area and joined the community of the Brothers. Her marriage was blessed with 4 sons and 3 daughters, which are all still living. Martin b. 30 Jun 1799 in Arisdorf Anna Maria b. 13 Sep 1802 in Arisdorf Joh. Born 10 Aug 1815 about 2 miles from here in Goshen. Her parents are John and Elizabeth Blickensderfer, nee Friedrich pg 128 #5 d. 3 Mar 1820 bur 15 Nov 1820 The honorable Brother Christian Blickensdorfer. He was born 6 Oct 1753 in Philadelphia, PA. joined the Brotherhood-Community in Lititz and was accepted the 26 Dec 1771 and on 15 July "made his holy Communion". On 9 Oct 1781 he married the surviving widow Barbara Born. Their marriage was blessed with 7 children, 3 sons and 4 daughters. 4 daughters preceded him into eternity. His surviving children are: Johannes, Married Car. Elisabrth Friedrich their liv. children 4 Christian, married Louise Sal. Friedrich, their liv. children 3 George, married Susanna Pickel, their liv children 3 Maria, married J. Abr. Ricksecker, their liv. children 2 Christiane Elisabeth, single Grandchildren 12 On 23 May 1812 he moved with all his family here to Sharon. The cause of his departing was a chestailment. He was 66 years, 5 moless 3 days old pg 129 #6 d. 11 Sep 1822 bur. 12 Sep 1822 The little boy Daniel Blickensdorfer, 1 year and 7 months old. He was born 11 Feb 1821. His parents are Jacob and Regina Blickensdorfer, nee Kreider. The child died of disentery. pg 129 #8 d. 11 Apr 1823 bur. 13 Apr 1823 The widowed Sister Barbara Blickensdorfer, nee Born. She was born on 1 July 1760 in Bethel on the Swatara in Pennsylvania. Her parents were Daniel and Margarethe Born, and they were members of the Community there. On 13 May 1777 she moved to Lititz into the the sister-house there. On 22 April 1779 she made her "Holy Communion". On 9 Oct 1781 she married the single Brother Christian Blickensdorfer. Her marriage was blessed with 7 children namely 3 sons anad 4 daughters, of which 2 of her daughters preceded her into eternity. When bidding Farewell she had 16 grandchildren living. On 23 May 1812 she moved here with her family to Sharon. On 3 March 1820 she became a widow because of the departure of her husband. She left at the age of 62 years, 9 months and 10 days. pg 130 #11 d. 3 Aug 1823 bur. 4 Aug 1823 The married Brother George Blickensdorfer. He was born 19 April 1792 in Lititz, Lancaster County. PA. On 7 Feb 1800 he was accepted into the community and on 23 Dec 1809 he "made his Holy Communion". In the year 1810 he came to this area and married in 1811 the now widowed Susanna Pickel. Their marriaage was blessed with 5 children, namely 1 son and 4 daughters. The last few years of his life he had to be excluded from the community. He died as a repented sinner from gallfever. His age 31 years and 2 weeks. pg 131 #12 d. 3 Aug 1823 bur. 4 Aug 1823 The little boy David Blickensdorfer, son of Jacob and Regina Blickensdorfer. He was born 9 Oct 1812 here in Sharon, and ended with his life after an accidental fall which occurred in his father's mill dam. He was 11 years, 10 months less 5 days old. pg 131 #13 d. 7 Aug 1823 bur. 8 Aug 1823 The little girl Maria Blickensdorfer, dau of the deceased (#11) George Blickensdorfer and his wife Susanna. She was born 2 Sep 1822 and died of a fever. Her age 11 months less 5 days old. pg 135 #23 d. 11 May 1824 bur. 13 May 1824 The widowed Sister Eva Keller, nee Keller. She was born 19 Jan 1755 in Arisdorf in the Caton Basel in Switzerland, aand raised in the Reformed Religion. In 1775 she married to the single Martin Keller. Their marriage was blessed with 6 children, 3 sons and 3 daughters. 1 son and 2 daughters have already preceded her into eternity. Of her still living children she enjoyed 23 grandchildren. In Sep 1803 she came with her family from Europe into this area. On 30 Oct 1803 she was accepted into the community and on 29 April 1804 she enjoyed "Holy Communion". On 10 Sep 1808 she was widowed by the death of her husband. She spent the last years of her life with her son Heinrich, and left this life at the age of 69 years, 3 months, 3 weeks, and 1 day. pg 135 #24 d. 26 Sep 1824 bur. 26 Sep 1824 The little girl Rosina Blickensdorfer, daughter of the deceased (#11) George Blickensdorfer and is still living widow Susanna. She was born 14 Mar 1820 and died at the age of 4 years, 6 months and 12 days. pg 137 #5 d. 5 Jul 1827 bur. 6 July 1827 The married Anna Susanna Meyers, nee Knaus. She was born 16 Nov 1801 in Gnadenhutten on the Muskingum and lived with her parents Ludwig and Maria Magdalena Knaus in the eastside of the house. She married 25 April 1822 the newly widowed George Meyers. Their marriage was blessed with 1 son and 1 daughter. She died at the age of 25 years, 7 months and 18 weeks and 4 days. pg 137 #26 d. 26 Aug 1827 bur. 27 Aug 1827 The little girl Catharina Blickensdorfer. dau of Jacob and Regina Blickensdorfer. She was born 24 Oct 1818 in New Philadelphia She brought her age to 8 years, 9 months and 12 days. pg 140 #37 d. 9 Oct 1829 bur. 11 Oct 1829 Jesse Blickensderfer, little son of the married Jaacob and Regina Blickensderfer, nee Kreiter. He was born 8 Aug 1829 and brought his age to 2 months and 1 day. His death was caused bu "Blue Cough" (Whooping Cough) pg 142 #43 b. 17 Nov 18830 bur. 19 Nov 1830 Catharina Anna Blickensderfer, a little bit older girl. She was born 15 Feb 1818. Her parents were Johann and Carolina Elisabeth Blickensderfer, nee Friedrich. She died of an illness unknown to the doctors. Her age was 12 years, 9 months, 2 days. pg 142 #45 d. 21 Jan 1831 bur. 23 Jan 1832 Elisabeth Meyers, little daughter of the married James and Maria Dor. Meyers, nee Romig. Born 26 1829. Her age 1 year, 2 months 15 days. pg 143 d. 20 Dec 1831 bur. 1 Jan 1832 Regina Blickensderfer, nee Kreiter, a married sister. She was born 16 Dec 1793 close to Lititz, to which Community her parents belonged. On 6 July 1811 she tasted her "Holy Communion" with the community if Lititz, and on 31 Dec of the same year she married Jacob Blickensderfer, into which marriage there were born 5 sons and 4 daughters, of which 3 sons and 2 daughters preceded her into eternity. In the year 1812 she moved with her husband into this area, and about 5 years ago to Dover. She died of a very bad cold after childbirth at the age of 38 years and 16 days. pg 145 d. 24 Dec 1832 bur 25 Dec 1832 Sarah Blickensderfer, born 7 Dec 1831 in Dover, age 1 year, and 17 daays. pg 150 d. 6 May 1839 bur. 7 May 1839 Ely Blickensderfer, son of John and Betsey Blickensderferl, a single young brother, born 7 Feb 1820, went today after a short illness into the next life. He was burried in Sharon. The Eulogy was given by Br. Tuber. pg 150 d. 18 Mar 1840 bur. 19 Mar 1840 Carolina Matilda Blickensdefer, dau of Frederic Blickensderfer and the (newlywed) or (unwed) widow Charlotte, nee Walton, became sick at the home of her aunt in New Philadelphia, and died of Scarlet fever. She was burried in Sharon by Br. T. age 5 years, 9 months, 3 days old. pg 150 d. 1 Apr 1840 bur. 2 Apr 1840 Oliver Harvey Blickensderfer, son of Frederick Blickensderfer and Charlotte, nee Walton, born 16 Jan 1838l, died on 1 Apr of Scarlet fever, land went home. He was burried in Sharon by Br. T. pg 150 d. 2 Dec 1840 bur 3 Dec 1840 Benjamin Meier, little son of Edward and Elizabeth Meier. Born 30 Nov, burried by Br. T. pg 150 d. 6 Aug 1841 bur. 8 Aug 1841 William Blickensderfer, son of Jacob Blickensderfer, jun., and Maria. Born 22 Nov 1839 in Roscoe. Died of desintery on 6 Aug, was burried by Br. T. pg 152 d. 10 Jul 1846 bur. 11 Jul 1846 Franklin Meyer, little son of Jacob and Cath. Meyer. He was born 30 Apr 1844 aand died of a stomach ailment. Br. Wolle had the burial. pg 152 d. 2 Sep 1846 bur. 3 Sep 1846 Caroline Elizabeth Blickensderfer, nee Friedrich. She was born 9 Jan 1781 in Mount Joy, Lancaster Co., PA. Her parents were Peter and Eva Friedrich. She was baptized in 1803 in Lititz, on 25 Feb 1804 she tased her first communion. On 2 Nov 1806 she married the single John Blickensderfer. In 1812 they moved to Ohio. She was the mother to 3 sons and 3 daughters, of which all but one preceded her into eternity. She became ill in July with desintery which eventually caused her death on 2 Sep. Age 65 years, 7 months, 24 days. After her burial in Sharon Br. Kaufman preached in the English and Br. Wolle in German. pg 153 d. 20 Sep 1846 bur. 21 Sep 1846 Francis Tobias Meyer, little son of Jacob and Cath. Meyer; Br. Wolle buried the body in Sharon. pg 153 d. 23 May 1848 bur. 24 May 1848 John Blickensdefer, a married brother, was bor 7 Nov 1782 in Lititz. Admitted to the Community 9 Nov 1799. Married 2 Nov 1802 to Caroline Eliz. Driedrich, who departed 2 Sep 1846. He was again married to Anna Douggherty on 7 Apr 1847. He died of dropsy on 23 May 1848. Br. Faufmann served at the funeraal. Br. Wolle preached in English. Pg 321 d. 15 Aug 1840 bur 16 Aug 1840 Maria Blickensderfer, nee Peter, daughter of David and Dorcus Peter, nee Blickensderfer, born 17 Sep 1800 in Gnadenhutten confirmed in Bethlehem, narried 29 Jan 1833 with the widowed Br. Jacob Blickensderfer in Dover, became ill in Februaryl, revovered a little here, but since the beginning of July she became worse, probably because of stomach trouble, of which she died on the 15th at 3 0'clock in the morning. She was burried in Gnadenhutten by Br. Charles Bleck, who just happened to be visiting from New York in Dover. pg 296 d. 19 Nov 1815 bur. 21 Nov 1815 The little girl Maria BLickensderfer, she belonged to her oarents 1 year, 4 weeks and 4 days. She was born 15 Oct 1814. Her parents were Jaacob Blickensderfer and Regina, nee Kreider. She was buried in New Philadelphia. pg 304 #41 d. 21 Aug 1825 bur. 23 Aaug 1825 The widowed Sister Catherine Tschudy, nee Merkly, she was born 11 Feb 1760 in the village Laausen in the Canton Basel in Switzerland, and was raised in the Reformed Church. On 27 January 1794 she married the now deceased Brother Martin Tschudy. Their marriage was blessed with 3 sons and 1 daughter of which one son preceded her into eternity. In May 1805 she was in this area. On 22 Nov 1807 she tasted her first Holy Communion. On 5 Jan 1821 she became a widow, since her husband "went home".(died) of 2 of her children she enjoyed 3 grandchildrlen She died at the age of 65 years, 6 months and 11 days. pg 397 The married sister Dorcus Elisabeth Tschudy, nee Peter, She was born 29 March 1803 here in Gnadenhutten. Her parents were Br. David Peter and his deceased wife Dorcus After she spent almost 7 years in the "Correction School" (could be "Boarding School" in Bethlehem she came here in Dec 1814 back to her parents. On 14 Apr 1816 she was accepted into the congregation and received communion on 12 Sep 1819. On 23 April 1821 she was married with the now several times widowed Martin TScccchudy. Her mariage was blessed with 1 daughter. She died of Gall bladder fever at the age of 20 years, 5 months, and 1 day. pg 305 d. 4 Sep 1826 bur 6 Sep 1826 The little girl Dorothea Elisabeth Blickensderfer, dau of Abraham Blickensderfer and Elisbeth Blickensderfer. She was born 25 April 1825 and was 1 year and 4 months old. pg 308 d. 22 Aug 1828 bur. 23 Aug 11828 Jacob Martin Blickensderfer, son of the Abranham and Elisabeth Blickensderfer, nee Tschudy. He was born 29 Sep 1827. Aage 11 months, less 7 daays. pg 316 Martin Tschudy, a husband, born 8 April 1796 in Canton Basel. He was accepted with his parents to the sommunity on 19 May 1805, made his first communion 30 May 1819, andentered into the state of matrimony on 21 April with the single sister Dorcas E. Peter, in which he produced 1 daughter. On 31 August 1823 his wife died, aand in Oct 1827 he entered into a second marriage with the single Matilda Johnson, in which he produced 3 sons. A few weeks ago he fell from a building, which was the cause of his end. Age 39 years and 11 days. pg 330 b. 24 Apr 1848 d. 25 Jan 1849 Abraham Jacob Meyer - twin son of Wm. and Cath. A. Meyer buried in Gnade, by S. Wolle pg 330 b. 21 Jul 1830 d. 20 Apr 1849 Lewis Josias Tschudy - Step-son of John Ginther and son of Martin Tschudy and his wife Matilda, now Ginther. Was born 21 July 1830. With his prents, he had just returned from the Ohio and seized on the 22nd with As. Cholera. He was buried the same evening without public srvice by S. Wolle and a few friends. pg 333 b. 23 Sep 1850 d. 21 Nov 1851 Emma Rebecca Meyer - daaughter of William and Catherine Anna Meyer, cause of deaath was diarrhea, service by L.F. Kampmann pg 324 b. 2 Aug 1787 d. 18 Apr 1853 Catherine Elizabeth Meyer - former Miller, born in Oley Township Berks County, PA. She was married to Jacob Meyer May 17, 1808, their union was blessed with 11 children, 4 sons and 7 daughters. 5 daughters preceded her into eternity, lived to see 37 grandchildren, buried at Gnadenhutten, lived and died in the Lutheran Faith. Service by Hanry C. Bachmann b. 27 Dec 1854 d. 29 Apr 1864 Emma Matilda Meyers - daughter of Samuel Meyers and wife Mary Ann, died of Diptheria, buried at Gnadenhutten by C. L. Reinke pg 345 b. 10 Jan 1857 d. 5 Oct 1857 Jacob Abrahaam Meyer - son of Samuel and Mary Ann Meyer Whooping cough the cause of death. Service by H. C.
