Admitted to Probate in Hancock Co., Ohio Probate Court on July 31, 1884. The application for probate states that Isaac Germond died on or about August 4, 1874, leaving Lydia Germond his widow. The heirs at law of Isaac Germond are listed as Granville S. Germond, of Mecosta, MI; Amanda E. Willey, of Harlan, IA; George B. Germond (deceased), and Maudelle M. Germond,(granddaughter). The named Executor (George B. Germond) being deceased, his wife, Amanda Worline Germond, was appointed Administrator With Will Annexed. The real estate of Isaac Germond was described as being 40 acres in Wood County, Ohio and 80 acres in Hancock County, being worth $1,000. A transcription of the Will is listed below. I, Isaac GERMOND, of the County of Hancock and State of Ohio, considering the uncertainty of life and being of sound mind and memory, do make and publish this my Last Will and Testament in manner following: Item 1st. I give, bequeath and devise unto my beloved wife, Lydia GERMOND, the use of all my property both personal and real estate all her lifetime, providing she remains my widow, but in case she marries again she is to have and to hold her lawfull third only. Item 2d I give bequeath and devise to Granville S. GERMOND and Amanda WILLEY, my son and daughter, the sum of Fifteen Hundred Dollars ($1,500) to each including what they have received from me in money or otherwise up to this date or may receive up to the date of Eighteen Hundred and Eighty (1880). Item 3rd At the death of the aforesaid Lydia GERMOND my wife, I give, bequeath and devise all my property both personal and real estate to George B. GERMOND, my youngest son, his heirs and assigns, to have and to hold and convey as their lawfull right forever. Item 4 - The said George B. GERMOND in consideration of the above bequest shall pay to the aforesaid Granville S. GERMOND and Amanda WILLEY the balance of the Fifteen Hundred Dollars above stated which may remain unpaid up to the year Eighteen Hundred and Eighty (1880). The said George B. GERMOND shall commence payment in the year Eighteen Hundred and Eighty (1880) of not less than Fifty ($50) Dollars as stated above. The time named above for payment to commence shall not prohibit said George B. GERMOND from making payments at an earlier date if he chooses to do o. Item 5th - It is my will that the aforesaid George B. GERMOND have the oversight care of and provide for the wants of his mother and father, Isaac & Lydia Germond, the remainder of their days when they ar3e unable to do the same for themselves. Item 6 - I nominated and appoint my son, George B. GERMOND, executor of this my Last Will and Testament with full power to compromise, adjust and release all debts due to me and I further empower him if he should deem proper to sell at private sale on such terms of credit or otherwise as he may deem proper all or any part of my said and deeds to purchaser, to execute acknowledge and deliver in fee simple. I do hereby revoke all former wills by me made. In testimony hereof I hereunto set my hand and seal this 25th day of July, 1874.
