This Regiment was organized at Columbus, O., from August 19 to September 21, 1861, to serve three years. On the expiration of its term of service the original members (except veterans) were mustered out, and the organization, composed of veterans and recruits, retained in service until July 15, 1865, when it was mustered out, in accordance with orders from the War Department. This Regiment was organized at Camp Piqua, Ohio on August 24, 1862 for a term of three years. Mansfield, Ohio on September 1, 1862 for a term of three years. They were immediately sent to Kentucky towards Louisville. in October, it took part in the battles of Perryville and Stone River. They also fought at the battle of Chickamauga, the assaults on Lookout Mountain and Mission Ridge. In May 1864, it joined Sherman's Atlanta Campaign, fighting all the way through to Atlanta. After pursuing Hood north, the regiment marched to the sea and then through the Carolinas, taking part in the last battle of Bentonville. When Johnston surrendered, the 94th regiment marched to Washington, via Richmond to pass in review before the president. The regiment was mustered out on June 6th, 1865.
