He was born in Medina County, Ohio, Feb. 12, 1868; son of Samuel C. Rosenberry and Mary Amelia Hitchcock. Kate: Katherine Landfair, wife of Marvin, died Jan. 26, 1917. He remarried in 1918, Lois Kimball Mathew. Sam: Samuel Landfair Rosenberry, son of Marvin Rosenberry, b. April 24, 1903, d. August 1973; he became a lawyer; lived in New York. Katherine: Katherine Rosenberry, daughter of Marvin Rosenberry, b. Oct. 10, 1901. Father: Samuel C. Rosenberry, b. Feb. 27, 1846 in Montville, Medina County, Ohio. Enlisted in 103rd OVI 1862, served 4 years. Moved to Kalamazoo County, Michigan. Son of Samuel L. Rosenberry (Rosenberger) and Sarah Bertolet. Married Mary Amelia Hitchcock September 30, 1866, Medina County, OH. Mother: Mary Amelia Hitchcock, b. Nov. 24, 1845 in Montville, Medina County, Ohio; daughter of Daniel Bristol Hitchcock and Emeline Sarah Welton. Married Samuel C. Rosenberry. Uncle Hobart: Henry Hobart Hitchcock, brother of Mary Amelia, b. Dec. 14, 1843, moved to Grafton, Lorain County, Ohio. Married Eleanor S. Breckenridge of Grafton. Cousin Windsor Whipple: b. April 29, 1850, Medina County, OH. Mary Amelia Hitchcock's first cousin. His mother was Harriett Hitchcock, b. Oct. 10, 1809, Madison County, NY; daughter of Daniel Hitchcock and Martha (Patty) Thayer. His father was George Washington Whipple, b. 1801, New York State. He married Adelaide H. Hines. Windsor Kellog: Grandson of Windsor Whipple, parents unknown but possibly Neal Kellogg and Mabel Whipple. (More research needed.) Howard Hitchcock: Howard Hobart Hitchcock, b. June 18, 1874, Grafton, OH; son of Henry Hobart Hitchcock and Eleanor Breckenridge. Married Della Stearns. Moved to Brunswick, Medina County, OH. Line Smith place: possibly Linus L. Smith, b. Nov. 15, 1822; married Julia Maria Thayer, b. Aug. 14, 1829, niece of Martha (Patty) Thayer Hitchcock. Sickman place: The Sickman's were neighbors of the Samuel L. Rosenberry Family in Montville Twp., Medina County, OH. Jonathan Kindig: b. July 9, 1845, married Leannah Landis; Jonathan was a brother of Harrison Kindig who was married to Marvin's aunt Sarah Rosenberry, sister of Samuel C. Rosenberry. Al Licey: Alvin Licey, b. Sept. 13, 1832, married Martha Wilson; his sister, Catherine Licey, married Noah Kindig, brother of Jonathan and Harrison Kindig. Mary Ann Roshon: Mary Ann Kindig, b. August 13, 1847, sister of Jonathan, Harrison and Noah; married Manoah Roshon. Grandfather Rosenberry: Samuel L. Rosenberry (Rosenberger), b. June 21, 1809, Montgomery County, PA; d. July 2, 1871, River Styx, Medina County, OH. Married Sarah Bertolet 1837. Son of Philip Rosenberger and Mary Landis. Eleven children: Philip, Jacob, Mary, Eliza, Sarah, Samuel, Hannah, Henry, Alvan, Abraham and Harvey. Grandmother Rosenberry: Sarah Bertolet, b. Mar. 18, 1817, Montgomery County, PA; d. Oct. 5, 1861, River Styx, Medina County, OH. Daughter of Henry Bertolet and Elizabeth Reiff, Married Samuel L. Rosenberry. Grandfather Hitchcock: Daniel Bristol Hitchcock, b. January 13, 1815, probably Amboy, Oswego County, NY; son of Daniel Hitchcock and Martha (Patty) Thayer; married Emeline Sarah Welton August 28, 1841 in Montville, Medina County, OH. Three children: Harriett,(died in infancy); Mary Amelia and Henry Hobart. Grandmother Hitchcock: Emeline Sarah Welton, b. August 5, 1811, Black Lake, NY; daughter of Junius Welton and Sarah Nichols. Married Daniel Bristol Hitchcock. Uncle Harrison: Harrison Kindig, b. Oct. 18, 1839, son of John O. Kindig and Mary Hunsberger; married Sarah Rosenberry, daughter of Samuel L. Rosenberry (Rosenberger). Aunt Sarah: Sarah Rosenberry, b. Dec. 19, 1844, daughter of Samuel L. Rosenberry (Rosenberger) and Sarah Bertolet, married Harrison Kindig. Six children: Harry, Marsha, Mamie, Florence, Henry and Hannah. Aunt Betty Morse: Betty (Betsey) Wheeler, b. 1841, daughter of Mira Hitchcock and John Wheeler. Mira Hitchcock was the sister of Daniel Bristol Hitchcock. Betty Wheeler married Martin V. Morse April 9, 1859 in Medina County, OH; son Bert. Willis Hitchcock: Willis Nelson Hitchcock, son of Henry Hobart Hitchcock. B. Oct. 14, 1870 in Grafton, Lorain County, OH. Married Mary Benzing. Children Eleanor S (b. 1895) and Nelson G (b. 1898). Aunt Ella: Eleanor S. Breckenridge, b. July, 1844, Grafton, OH; daughter of Justin Breckenridge and his wife (nee Pohlman). Married Henry Hobart Hitchcock. Four children: Clarence Pohlman Hitchcock, Willis Nelson Hitchcock, Howard Hobart Hitchcock, and Dwight Bristol Hitchcock. Clarence Hitchcock: Clarence Pohlman Hitchcock, b. Aug. 30, 1868, Grafton, OH; son of Henry Hobart Hitchcock and Eleanor Breckenridge. His wife was named Christine; he had at least three children: Marie, Ralph and Dorothy. Uncle A.B.: Abraham Bertolet Rosenberry, b. Sept. 12, 1854, Medina County, OH. Son of Samuel L. Rosenberry (Rosenberger) and Sarah Bertolet. Married Kate Boardman. Four daughters: Kate, Elizabeth, Louise, and Ruth. A.J.: Dr. Alvan J. Rosenberry, born Oct. 2, 1851, Medina County, OH. Son of Samuel L. Rosenberry (Rosenberger) and Sarah Bertolet.
