It was the burial place for Fort Morrow that stood close to the trail that ran north to Lake Erie. Land for the graveyard is said to have been given by Nathaniel Wyatt, whose home was included within the stockade of Fort Morrow. It was the earliest burial place in this neighborhood and was used by the Wyatts. Brundiges and some other early families. lately there has been some moving of graves because of the storage reservoir formed by the Delaware Dam on the Olentangy River, but most of the cemetery is above the encroachment of the river. The place had considerable care and is in good condition. A complete record of inscriptions was attempted, but some of the graves are placed irregularly, making it difficult to be sure of every one. Some graves have no markers, and a few are so weathered as to be difficult to read or even illegible. ALLISON, Jesse, died Jan. 26, 1829, aged 44 years.
