Stephenson, was killed by Indians near the present site of marion, when on his way home soon after the repulse of the British and Indians at that fort. With him was Major Daniels and a teamster who brought his body to Fort Morrow where it was buried in the cemetery. Major Daniels though badly wounded, recovered and took the news to Capt. Flynn's family at Chillicothe. Capt. Yarnold who was in the Battle of Lake Erie, is buried here. Two soldiers were killed by Indians on their way home from Upper Sandusky, and their bodies were found and brought here for burial. Three soldiers who died at Nathaniel Wyatt's home are also buried here. Of the other six soldiers buried in this row nothing seems to have been recorded. - ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Nathaniel Wyatt's daughter Temperance who married Timothy Aldrich is buried in another old cemetery a few miles east of the Wyatt Cemetery. It is often called Mound or Foust Graveyard and is back from the road and no longer in use. The stones were hard to read, but Temperance died in June 25, 1835, aged 33y 8m 22d. (A variation of a few days from the Bible record.) Three infant children of hers and one grave of a daughter infant are close to hers. Also near by is the grave of Timothy born ca 1782 and died 1857 (not distinct.) In Troy Township of Delaware County is the old Marlborough Cemetery which has been moved to higher ground from Olentangy River. Here is the grave of one of the daughters of William Brundige, Sarah who married Isaac Terboss. She was born 1773 and died 1845. Beside her is Nathaniel, son of Isaac and Sarah Bush, died September 15, 1830 in his 19th year. It is said the present Delaware County Bushes were originally Terboss', and this seems to be evidence of that. ______________________________ ------------------------------ X-Message: #3 Date: Tue, 6 Jul 1999 21:32:46, -0500 From: AUPQ38A@prodigy.com (MRS GINA M REASONER) To: OH-FOOTSTEPS-L@rootsweb.com Message-Id: <199907070132.VAA21870@mime2.prodigy.com> Subject: ADAMS CO.
