WAUGH, Thomas - Born in this county, May 27, 1807, son of Henry and
Elizabeth (Brown) Waugh who settled here in 1801. There were no churches
here then so they attended the Baptist church in Green Bottom, Va. Thomas
married August 1, 1833 Miriam Slone, born March 3, 1815 in this county,
daughter of John and Sarah (Henry) Slone who settled here in 1802. John
Slone was born December 31, 1778 and Sarah born September 30, 1780. John
died February 5, 1831 and Sarah died October 17, 1838. Thomas and Miriam
had: March C. born 1834, Sarah 1836-1858, William 1838-1840, George E.
1840-1841, John H. born 1842, Elizabeth S. born 1845 (lived in Kans), James
T. 1845-1865, Matilda A. born 1848, Mary F. born 1849, Thomas J. born 1851
and Eliza 1854-1865. John H. Waugh (above) born May 23, 1842, married march
10, 1870 to Wealthy Lusher born here July 27, 1847, daughter of John L. and
Elizabeth (Smith) Lusher who settled here in 1830. John and Wealthy had 3
children.

WAUGH, Charles L. - Born here July 21, 1845, son of Amos and Mariah J.
(Roos) Waugh, who settled in this county in 1814. Amos was born March 10,
1814 and died September 16, 1868. Mariah born July 2, 1820. Charles L.
married here April 21, 1867 to Elvira Gilmore, born here September 20,
1842, daughter of John and Sarah (Trotter) Gilmore. Charles and Elvira had:
Elmer, Emma, John, Levi, Sarah, Edith and Albert. Elvira's great
grandmother was the famous "Ann Bailey".

WAUGH, Theodore - Brother of Charles L. born November 19, 1847, married
April 1, 1869 to Mary Sowards, born Lawrence Co., Ohio April 3, 1844,
daughter of George and Rachel (Burchem) Sowards. Theodore and Mary had 4
children.

WALKER, Jesse - Born Athens, Ohio April 8, 1806, son of Obadiah and
Cassandra (Halsey) Walker who had 3 sons in Civil war: Ansel, Vincent and
Obadiah. Jesse married 1st Permelia Richardson born 1809 and died September
21, 1833 of cholera. They had Oscar born August 21, 1830 (lived Nevada) and
Milton R. born Jun 26, 183 and died June 13, 1871. Jesse married 2nd April
21, 1847 to Margaret Mauck born November 3, 1817, daughter of John and
Elizabeth (Whaley) Mauck. Jesse and Margaret had: Perlie M. born 1850
(married Miss T.B. Flower) and Amos L.

WINEGAR, James - Born Augusta Co., Va. January 14, 1830, son of John and
Lucinda (Starling) Winegar who came to this county 1845. John was born
January 25, 1804, died March 10, 1862 and Lucinda born February 5, 1798,
died May 6, 1867. James married March 6, 1851 to Susannah Hix born July 15,
1835?, daughter of Eli and Elizabeth (Shafer) Hix. James and Susannah had:
Margaret, died young, Wm. H., Eli C., Sarah L., Elizabeth, Andrew J.,
Lillie B., Chancey J.E., Charles Fremont, Oscar Perry and Clarence E.

WILLIAMS, Elijah - Born here November 4, 1820, son of John and Louisa T.
(Sartin) Williams who had 3 sons in Civil war: John S., Wm. P., and James
H. Williams. The father among first settlers. John was born February 20,
1796 and Louisa born April 20, 1803 and died November 19, 1876. Elijah
married in Lawrence Co., Ohio June 1, 1853 to Eliza Griffith born in that
county February 10, 1835, daughter of John and Mary (Gwinn) Griffith. John
born 1793 and Mary born 1800. Elijah and Eliza had: Angeline, John, James,
Lucy, Louis, mary, Elijah, Murtie, Albert, Letha and Charles.

WELLS, David D. - Born Monroe Co., Ohio September 8, 1845, son of ____ and
Malinda Wells. He married April 22, 1866 to Rebecca J. Sheets born here
January 2, 1845, daughter of Brice H. and Mahaley (Fowler) Sheets. David
and Rebecca had: Sarah, Louis, Armatt M., Celstia C., Thomas, Franklin and
Minerva.

WALTER, Joseph - Born Manchester, England November 22, 1826, son of William
and Anna (Dick) Walter, who settled in this county in 1849. Joseph married
October 31, 1852 to Hannah Null born here September 6, 1830, daughter of
William and Abigail (Massie) Null who came here in 1823. Joseph and Hannah
had: William, David, Elizabeth, George, Sarah, Mary, Hannah, John,
Missourit, Julia and Ada.

WHITE, Enoch - Born in Baltimore, Md. February 20, 1822, son of Job and
Catherine (Hamilton) White. Enoch married in Ann Arundel Co., Md. July 1,
1847 to Elizabeth M. Burgee born Pr. George Co., Md. January 6, 1824,
daughter of Elisha and Mary (Harvey) Burges. Enoch and Catherine had 1
child, Ephriam born July 23, 1853, died 1854. They adopted Margaret Clark
born October 13, 1859.

WILLIAMS, Isaiah S. - Born here November 2, 1837, son of Joseph and Isabel
(Phillips) Williams, here in 1834. Isaiah married March 7, 1861 to Mary E.
McDaniel born here December 11, 1841, daughter of Sylvester and Mahala
(Louks) McDaniel. Isaiah and Mary had: Roma, Elmer, Edwin and Charles.

WILLIAMS, James K. - Born here August 11, 1840, son of William and Lucinda
(Allison) Williams, who settle here 1817. He married in Lawrence Co., Ohio
March 20, 1864 to Lucy Vermillion, born there September 8, 1838, daughter
of Uriah and Nancy (Corn) Vermillion. James K. and Lucy had: Wm. W.T., and
Effie, twins; Edith, Sarah, Area, Osa, John and Flora.

WORTHINGTON, Joseph G. - Born Lawrence Co., Ohio June 26, 1841, son of
Alexader and Ann Eliza (Rutter) Worthington. Joseph married in Lawrence
Co., Ohio December 2, 1866 to Julia A. Bandy born there November 5, 1841,
daughter of George and Elizabeth (Cauly) Bandy. Joseph and Julia had George
A., Arch T., Annie E., and Winnie E.

WISEMAN, Rev. Andrew - Born Monroe Co., W.Va., March 6, 1830, son of Isaac
and Sarah (Ramsey) Wiseman, who came here in 1837. Andrew married 1st
January 6, 1853 to Hannah Pine born November 23, 1831 and died October 29,
1863, daughter of John and Mary (Becket) Pine. They had: Mary, George,
John, Sarah and Hannah V. He married 2nd October 12, 1864 to Margaret
(McDaniel) Hall born September 22, 1842, daughter of Ephriam and Elizabeth
(Shumate) McDaniel who came here in 1820. Margaret married 1st in 1859 to
Joshua Hall who died December 5, 1861. Andrew and 1st wife also had
Sophronia born April 25, 1861. Andrew was in the Civil war.

WILLEY, John - Born Delaware Co., Del. September 14, 1836. He married there
April 7, 1862 to Frances R. Smith born Mason Co., W.Va., December 16, 1840,
daughter of Jacob and Hannah (Coffman) Smith. They had: Edward, Jane,
Wesley, Lotta and Lizia. John served 3 years in Civil war.

WILHELM, William - Born Jefferson Co., Ohio December 8, 1838, son of Henry
and Margaret (Russell) Wilhelm. Henry was born 1814 and Margaret born 1813.
William married June 27, 1867 to Catherine T. Miller born in Carroll Co.,
Ohio August 26, 1849, daughter of John C. and Sarah (Scarlett) Miller.
William and Catherine came here in 1868. They had: Winnie, Maggie M. and Otho.

WISE, George - Born in Belmont Co., Ohio January 3, 1820, son of John and
Jane (McMillon) Wise who moved to Belmont Co. in 1800. George married in
Belmont Co., ohio January 27, 1842 to Julia A. Hamilton born there August
9, 1823, daughter of Thomas and Elizabeth (WISE) Hamilton. George and Julia
came to this county 1842 and had: Anna, Elizabeth, Mary, Josephine and
William born 1853 (lived Doniphan Co. KS).

WHITAKER, Andrew J. - Born Allegheny Co., Pa June 20, 1815, son of Isaac
and Sarah (McNeal) Whitaker. He married in Allegheny City, Pa., on June 8,
1837 to Anamira Stine born Baltimore, Md., October 17, 1816, daughter of
John W. and Susan (Lighter) Stine. Andrew and Anamira had: Isaac W. (in
Civil war); James M. (killed in Civil war); Adam J. (killed in Civil war);
Louis T. (lived W.Va.); Andrew J. (murdered in Arkansas); George W.; Dacter
B.F. (drowned in Ohio river); Jasper M.; Francis M. (lived Lacelde Co.,
MO); Major W. (lived Butte Co., Cal.).

WETHERHALT, James M. - Born here September 21, 1842, son of Thomas and Anna
H. (Ward) Wetherhalt who settled here in 1824. He married November 7, 1866
to Sarah Campbell born here June 27, 1847, daughter of John and Clarinda
(Waugh) Campbell. John and Sarah had: Sherman, John and Thomas.

WISE, Samuel - Born Belmont Co., Ohio April 25, 1815, son of Jacob and
Elizabeth (Colvin) Wise. He married in Belmont Co., Ohio January 10, 1837
to Margaret Hinkele, born there August 9, 1816, daughter of Christopher and
Sarah (Keyser) Hinkele. Samuel and Margaret had: Sarah (born Licking co.,
Ohio November 8, 1837); Jacob born Belmont Co., Ohio October 2, 1839 and
lived Putnam Co., W.Va.; Susanna died young; Thomas H.; John W. and Samuel.

WETHERHOLT, Thomas - Born Wythe Co., W.Va., October 17, 1814, son of John
and Rebecca (Clark) Wetherholt who settled here in 184. Thomas married here
January 1, 1837 to Anna H. Ward born here October 10, 1816, daughter of
Jacob and Mary Ward who came here in 1816. Thomas and Anna had: JOhn W.,
Jacob, Eliza, James, Rebecca, Charles, Harvey, Thomas, Sarah and Anna.
Thomas married 2nd Sarah S. Angel April 23, 1868, daughter of Henry H. and
Amelia (Bellomy) Angel. They had one child, Mary who died young. They
raised grandson, Stephen O.

WILT, David - Born here October 1833, son of Jacob and Mary (Cook) Wilt,
who settled here in 1815. David married December 24, 1856 to Martha Lewis
born in N.Y. march 19, 1837, daughter of Stephen and Mary (Gardner) Lewis
who settled here in 1840. They had: Homer, John and Mary.

WRIGHT, John W. - Born here April 17, 1839, son of Wyatt and Eliza (Porter)
Wright. Wyatt born August 1, 1807. Eliza died July 1851. John W. married
June 16, 1858 to Martha Love born here November 17, 1833, daughter of
Robert and Rosaline (Willmore) Love. John and Martha had: Samuel, Mary,
Charles and James.
