Lawrence Common Pleas July Term A.D. 1848 On the twentieth day of July in the year of our Lord, one thousand eight hundred and forty eight, in the ? at Record of said court is the following order of probate of the last Will and Testament of William Corn, late of Lawrence County, dec'd towit " The last Will and Testament of Wm. Corn dec'd, late of Lawrence County was this day presented in open court and proven by the oaths, Peter W. Ghrist and Jeptha Massie, two of the subscribing witnesses thereto whose examinations were reduced to writing and appearing to the satisfaction of the court that the said Wm. Corn at the time of executing said will, was of full age and of sound mind and memory and not under any restraint. It is ordered that said will and the proof so reduced to writing as a foresaid be recorded and filed with the probate of said will". Know all men by these presents that I William Corn of the county of Lawrence and state of Ohio, do on this 5th day of June in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty eight, make my last will and testament as follows: First that all my land in my posession described as follows shall be holden by my widow, Mary Corn as long as she remains my widow. The north west quarter of the north west quarter of section fifteen, forty acres and eighty three hundredth of an acre, also a certain tract of land in Mason Township, Lawrence County, Ohio bounded as follows containing seventy acres, be it more or less, beginning at the supposed corner when the section line crosses the fence and running as the fence now stands to the line of said birches, it being part of the east half of the northeast quarter of section nine in Township three in range sixteen, also a certain tract of land containing forty two acres and twenty nine hundredths the southwest quarter of the southwest quarter of section nine, township three of range sixteen, also a certain tract or parcel of land containing six acres bounded as described in the deed. Also the half of forty two acres it being the southeast quarter of the northeast quarter of section no. 9 of range sixteen, the aforesaid lot is to be divided north and south the east half of said lot will be holden by widow as before mentioned and the west half I give and grant unto my son, Harvey Corn and this shall be considered all that I intend him to have as an heir of my estate, and the land above mentioned all that I grant unto my widow Mary Corn at her death shall be equally divided among the other boys by three disinterested men and they shall be satified with the division of those men. I grant and bequeath to each of my girls one cow apiece and at the death of my widow all the beds and bed-clothing shall be equally divided among my girls. And after all my honest debts are paid the personal property then remaining shall be holden unto my widow to dispose of as she thinks proper and at her death if then be any property remaining, except what I have here in above granted to my heirs it shall be divided equally among all of them.
