July 1827 On the 6th there occurred in Sharon the burial of Anna Sus. Meyers, who died on the 5th. The deceased Anna Susanna Meyers, maiden name, Knaus, was born in Gnadenhutten on the Muskingum on November 16, 1801. Soon after, her parents, Bro. and Sr. Ludwig and Maria Magd. Knaus moved over to the Sharon side with their family. On April 25, 1827 she married the now widowed George Meyer. Their marriage was blessed with one son and one daughter/. A wasting desease was the cause of her end, which followed this day at the 7th hour in the morning. Her age was 25 years, 7 months, 2 weeks and 4 days. Sunday, the 15th. A little son of John and Lydia Clewel was baptised, with the name of Levi Henry. March 1828 A meeting was held asfter the sermon in which the unmarried sister of Maria Nornhold was received into the congregation. Wednesday, the 12th. at 11 o'clock was held the burial of the child, Jesse Starke, a stranger, his age being 4 years, 5 months and 10 days. Friday, the 14th. Occurred the burial of the married Magdalene Stocker, maiden name Staas; She was born March 30, 1788 in Lower Lancoral Twp., Pennsylvania and died March 13, 1828 at the age of 20 years less 17 days. Thursday, the 20th. At 2 o'clock occurred the burial of the single Anna Maria Flickinger, a girl non-member of the congregation aged 15 years and 4 dalys. Her sickness was consumption. Friday the 28th. At 11 o'clock occurred the burial of the little boy, John George Rebstock, his age being 7 years, 6 months and 4 days. Sunday the 30th. July 1828 Friday the 19th. The burial of the married Elisabeth Briminger, maiden name Arnold, was held in Beersheba. She was born Jan. 15, 1791 and was united in marriage with Jacob Briminger on September 15, 1813, in which marriage she bore 3 sons and 3 daughters. She reached the age of 38 years 6 month and 3 days. August 1828 Sunday the 3rd. The burial of the married Anna Catharine Homrighausen, maiden name Weller was held first. She was born July 12, 1789. She was wedded to George Wilhelm Homrighausen about 22 years ago, which marriage was blessed with 5 sons and 6 daughters of whom 3 sons and 1 daughter preceded her to eternity. She reached the age of 39 years and 21 days. The new committee was elected after this. Brethren Jacob Blickensderfer, John Knaus, Boaz Walton and Benjamin Herbach received the most votes. Monday the 11th. Occurred the burial of the married Samuel Conn. He was born in Pennsylvania. Was united in marriage with the single Melinda Saunders, by which marriage there were born him 3 sons and 5 daughters of whom 1 son and 2 daughters preceded hime to eternity. Age and time of marriage are unknown. Saturday the 23rd. Occurred the burial of the little jacob Martin Blickensderfer. He was born Sept. 29th, 1827 aged 11 months less 7 daays. October 1828 Sunday, October 11. Divine service was held at Sharon. First occurred the burial of little Jesse Blickensderfer. Thursday, 15th. There occurred the wedding of the unmarried Martin Thomenjion with the unmarried Susanna Keller in Henry Keller's home. Sunday, 18th. There was held in Gnadenhutten, after the first service at 11 o'clock, the wedding of the single Samuel Julius with the single Margarethe Dell. Later there was hold communion at which the married Samuel Julian was present as a guest and the married Barbara Guenther was present as a condidate. Next, occurred the burial of the widowed sister, Rosina Leinbach, maiden name Raus. She was born February 10th, 1754 at a place called Falknre's Swamp, not far from Philadelphia, Pa., from which place she moved with her parents to Carolina, and from there to the state of Maryland, not far from Graceham where the family joined the church, and our sister attained to the graces of the congregation. In the year 1781 she entered into marriage with Br. Christian Leinbach, and lived with him in happy wedlock from 10 to 11 years, which were blessed in Graceham with six daughters, lbut of these, one went home during her childhood. From her still living daughters she has lived to see 35 grandchildren. In the year 1817 she moved with one of her daughters into the neighborhood of Pittsburg. Our Bro. and Sr. Peter, her children, brought her here to live with them at Gnadenhutten in the year 1825. On the 17th she left us. March 1830 Friday 26th. In Beersheba, at half past eleven, there took place the burial fof the single John Wieland. He was born May 31, 1813 and died the 25th of this month. His age was 16 years, 9 months and 26 days. April 1830 Sunday, April 4th (Palm Sunday) After the sermon was confirmation of the single brethren and boys; John, Joseph and Samuel Rehmelt, Herman Fuchs, and Jesse Blickensderfer, the married sister Mathilda Tschudy maiden name Johnson and of the older girls Salome Romig and Charlotte Simmers. Thursday April 8th. In the afternoon at Sharon was the confirmation of the married brother, Benjamin von Lehn, the youth John Werner, the married sisters Eva Keller, Maria Roand Salome von Lehn and the single sisters and older girls, maria A. Fenner, Salome Blickensderfer and Sarah Demuth. The baptism of Rosanna Lucinda Walton took place. November 1830 Monday, Nov. 15th. At 10 o'clock in Sharon occurred the funeral of the married Judith Haskell, maiden name, Stuckey. She was born in March, 1791, in Newbergport, Massachuetts. In the year 1818 she was married to Noah Haskell, which marriage was blessed with 4 sons and 2 daughters, of whom 1 son and 1 daughter preceded her to eternity. She reached the age of 39 years and about 8 months. Fridau 19th. At 10 o'clock in Sharon occurred the burial of the older girl, Catherina Anna Blickensderfer, a daughter of the married John Blickensderfer and Carol Elizabeth, maiden name Friederich. She was born Feb. 15,l1818. Her age was 12 years, 9 months and 2 days. Tuesday 23rd. In Gnadenhutten was kept the funeral of little Harvey Edward Diver. In the afternoon I went to Dover, where the little child of Bro. and Sr. Jacob Blickensderfer was baptised into the death of Jesus, because its mother had become seriously ill. Saturday 24th. At 1 o'clock in the afternoon, there occurred in Gnadenhutten the burial of little Lydia Wittmann, a daughter of the single Catherine Wittman; born October 1, 1828, died December 23, 1831, aged 3 years, 2 months and 22 days. January 1832 January 1st. In the afternoon the funeral of the married Regina Blickensderfer, maiden name Kreites, was held. She was born December 14, 1793, close to Lititz. to which congregation her parents belonged. July 6, 18111, she first partook of Holy Communion, and on December 31st of that year she was married to Jacob Blickensderfer, which marriage was blessed with 5 sons and 4 daughters, of which 3 sons and 2 daughters preceded her to eternity. In the year 1912 they came into this area and, about 5 years ago, to Dover. On December 7th, 1831, Although she was suffering from a severe cold, she was successfully delivered of a little daughter. But after some days she again became very weak, but the remedies which were applied seemed to have a good effect, until on December 26, an unusually great weakness overcame her, and it was to be surmised that the Lord would call her home at this time. On the 28th she was overpowered by a sense of the nearness of Jesus, the blessing on her home - going was imparted, which occurred on the thirtieth, between 11 and 12 o'clock, in a very gentle and blesssed manner. Aged 36 years and 16 days. Wednesday 4th. at 1 o'clock in the afternoon occurred the burial of the married widow Catherina Knaus Werner, maiden name, Becker. She was born February 3, 1780 in Lancaster County, PA. In March 1802 she was married to the single Ceorge Werner, which marriage was blessed with 2 sons and 7 daughters, from whon she has 12 grandchildren. Her husband died on November 10, 1818, and September 25th, 1828, she entered a second time into marriage, this time with the widowered brother, Ludwig Knaus. She died on the third, age 51 years and 11 months. March 1833 Sunday 31st. Palm Sunday. There followed the confirmation of the married brethrenl, Joseph Fenner and Benjamin Guenther,l the single brethren, Martin Keller, John Huetter, Friedrich Keller and Simon P. Blickensderfer, and the married sisters, Elizabeth Strehr, Charlotte Blickensderfer and Eliza Fenner. April 1833 Monday 1st. In Sharon occurred the burial of the married sister, Martha Emilie Romig, maiden name, Fenner, who blessedly fell asleep on March 30th. She was born Dec. 17, 1807, in Bethlehem, PA. In the year 1822 she moved with her parents into this vicinity where she was admitted to Holy Communion on March 31, 1825 and on December 20, 1829 she entered into the bond of Holy matrimony with the single John Romig, which marriage was blessed with 1 son and 1 daughter. She became sick with comsumption, was age 25 years, 4 months, less 2 days. June 1833 Friday 28th. There occurred in Sharon the burial of the married sister, Maria Magdalena Demuth, maiden name Werner. She was born January 16, 1808, in Lancaster County, PA. The family moved into this neighborhood in the year 1818, where our sister was married to Joseph Demuth, new widower, on October 18, 1827. and soon thereafter she joined our congregation. On April 3rd, 1828 she participated in Holy Communion for the first time. Her marriage was blessed with 2 sons and 1 daughter, of whom 1 son preceded her into eternity. After a short illness she departed yesterday after at 2 o'clock. Aged 25 years, 5 months and 9 days. July 1833 Friday, Julu 5th. There was held in Sharon the funeral of little Beata von Lehn, a daughter of Heinrich v. Lehn and Susanna, maiden name, Pickle. Born June 15 and died July 4. Aged 2 weeks and 5 days. Thursday 11th. There occurred in Sharon the burial of the foreigner, Gottfried Jentsch. He was born in Saxony, emigtated some years ago and came into this neighborhood who supported himself with dyeing and weaving. He did not know his age himself, but it might be 75 years. Monday 22nd. There occurred in Sharon the burial of Beatus Keller, the little son of Martin Keller and Marie, maiden name BLickensderfer, who was born and died yesterday. September 1833 Thursday 12th. There occurred in Sharon the burial of little Erastus Rank, a son of the married John and Elizabeth Rank, born October 12, 1831. Aged 1 year, 11 months less 1 day. Monday 16th. There occurred in Sharon the buril of little Anna Maria Ellenberger, a daughter of Christian Ellenberger and Anna Eva, maiden name Blickensderfer. She was born June 24, 1832, and died Sept 15, 183l, at the age of 1 year, 2 months and 22 days. Friday 20th. There occurred in Sharon the burial of little Mathulda Keller, little daughter of JAcob Keller and Eva, maiden name Friedrich. Born December 3rd, she died the 19th of this month. Age 9 months and 16 days. Sunday 29th. There occurred in Sharon the burial of the married Anna Eva Ellenberger, maiden name Blickensderfer, She was born April 12, 1805, in Bavaria, October 12, 1831, she was married to the single Christian Ellenberger, which marriage was blessed with a little daughter, but who preceded her into eternity. Aged 27 years, 5 months and 15 days. March 1834 Sunday 16th. There was German preaching in Sharon. In the afternoon ocurred the marriage of the single William Mikuch to the single Anna Enterlein. Sunday 23rd. Palm Sunday. Occurred the confirmation of the single brother and boys: Ellijah Fenner, Louis Elias Rehmel, and Edward Romig, of the married sisters: Catharina Guenther, Elizabeth Ann Rehmel, Catherina Wuensch, Louisa Peter, Julianna Dell, Elizabeth Miksch, Lydia Fenner and Christiana Blickensderfer. July 1834 Monday 14. The sick child of the married Friederich Blickensderfers was baptised at their house. Saturday 19th. In Sharon occurred the funeral of the single brother, Thomas Keller who fell asleep on the 17th. He was born August 14, 1811. He first became a communicant member of the church on April 3, 1828. Aged 22 years, 11 month and 3 days. Monday 21st. There occurred in Gnadenhutten the burial of little Rosena Caroline Edmonds. Born April 10. Aged 3 months and 10 days. August 1834 Wednesday 13th. In beersheba a forsign child by the name of Gottfried Wieland was buried. Friday 15th. A foreign man was buried in Sharon in the forenoon and a foreign boy in Gnadenhutten. In the afternoon a foreign woman was buried in Sharon. Monday 18th. A foreign child was buriin Gnadenhutten. Tuesday 19th. There occurred in Gnadenhutten the burial of the married sister Sarah Elizabeth Huber, maiden name, Wuensch. She was born Feb. 23, 1825 and was married to the now widowed Salomo Huber on Nov. 1, 1832, which marriage was blessed with two children, both of whom were stillborn, and the last one was buried with her. On Sunday the 17th she complained of severe headaches. To this was added, violent convulsions, in which she lost her consciousness; she remained in this condition until her end, which occurred early on the 18th. Aged 26 years, 6 months, less 5 days. April 1835 Thursday 16th. There was first in Sharon the confirmation of the boys, Edward Meyer, Jacob Meyer, Benjamin Keller; of the married sister, ElizabethRomig; of the single sisters and older girls, Louisa Knaus, Elizabeth Dienst, Almerine Herbach, Elizabeth Keller and Catherine Keller. At half past 3 o'clock in the afternoon occurred the burial of the married John Rank, born June 29, 1796 in Lancaster County, Pa. In the year 1830 he was married to the single Elizabeth Sloan, which was blessed with 2 children, but one of them preceeded him to eternity. Several weeks ago he was siezed by a cold, which brought abaout his end on the 14th of this month. Aged 38 years, 9 months and 16 days. At 4 o'clock in the afternoon in Gnadenhutten occurred the burial of the widowed sister Rebstock, maiden name Riegert. She was born May 10, 1771, in Wuertembuersischen. She was married to the single Jorn Mortimer Rebstock, which marriage was blessed with 9 children, of whom 3 preceded her to eternity. From her still living children she has lived to see a number of grandchildren. In December, 1805, the family moved into this neighborhood. On May 22, 1822, she was made a widow by the sudden homegoing of her husband. She had much trouble and distress in this ssituation on account of her badly behaving sons. She also had much sickness to live through. She went to sleep on the 14th of this month. Aged 63 years, 11 months and 4 days. Friday 17th. There occurred in Gnadenhutten the baptism of the married sister Elizabeth Suzanna Demuth, with 2 of her grown up sons and 1 daughter. April 1835 Tuesday 21st. There occurred in Gnadenhutten the burial of the married brother, Martin Tschudy. He was born April 8, 1796. He moved into this neighborhood with his parents in May 1805. He became a communicant member on May 30, 1819. On April 23, 1821, he was married the first time, with Dorcas Elizabeth Peter, which was blessed with a daughter. His wife died on August 31, 1823. In October 1827l, he was married the second time - with the single Matilda Johnson, which was blessed with 3 sons. Some weeks ago he fell from a building, from which he received an incurable inward injury. From this time on he lay quite helpless in bed and had violent pains for the most part. On his sick bed he learned to know himself as a great sinner,l sought comfort and help in his Lord and received grace. His end followed on the 19th, in the evening. Age 39 years and 11 days.
