TO DOUGLAS COUNTY REUBEN ALLEN was born in Cadiz, Ohio, June 19, 1816. In 1840 he moved to Mt. Pleasant, Iowa where he was married in 1844 to Eveline Caulk, a native of N. Carolina. Went to Nebraska in 1871. They had Eliza, Mary, Robert and Evalyn. EDWARD M. ANDERSON born in Hanover, Germany, Oct 7, 1844. Here in 1869 to Toledo, Ohio. He married here in 1873 to Miss Ada C. Drury, native of Tontogany, O. Went to Nebraska in 1880. Had daughter Alice. J.H. ARTHUR born in Hillsborough, Highland Co., Ohio, Feb. 20, 1841. He married there in 1867 to Miss Mary Evans. They had 2 children, Bertrand and Henry. B.B. BARKALOW was born in Warren Co., Ohio, Oct. 5, 1819. He married in Montgomery Co., Ohio in 1842 to Miss Margaret Denise of that county. Went to Nebraska in 1856. They had: Derrick, Sidney, Daisy, Moses and Anna. D.V. Barkalow born in Warren Co., Ohio, Feb. 1843. He married Kate Whitehead, 2 children. S.D. BARTLETT was born in Cuyahoga Co., Ohio, Apr. 8, 1849. Later went to Monroe, Wisc. with parents. In 1875 he married in Albany, N.Y. Lida L. Filkins a niece of Morgan Filkins. Had daughter May I. To Nebraska in 1878. J.T. BEATTY was born in Fairfield Co., Ohio, July 11, 1846. Removed to Louisa Co., Iowa in 1856 with parents. He married Miss Emma Brown. Had son J. Ray. He served in Co. A. 45th Iowa Vol. To Nebraska in 1871. HENRY BECHTEL was born in Wayne Co., Ohio, Feb. 14, 1850. In 1876 he married Julia Cusick a native of Ireland. Had daughter Maggie. To nebraska about 1871. WM. F. BECHEL born in Canton, Ohio, Feb. 27, 1841. In 1841 removed to Akron, Ohio with parents. He served in Co. C, 107th Ohio Vol. He married in Cincinnati, Ohio in 1873 to Lucy Hainesworth. They had Mary, Lucy and William Jr. To Nebraska in 1878. MARTIN CANNON born in Ohio in 1844. He married at Lexington, Ohio to Miss Ellen McShane. They had 7 children. Later went to Nebraska. ISAAC E. CONGDON born in Cleveland, Ohio, Mar. 1, 1856. He removed to Omaha, Nebraska with father in 1866, from Springfield, Ill. For some time lived with relatives in New Hampshire. I.H. CONGDON born in Granville, Hampden Co., Mass., June 1, 1833. Employed in shops of Cleveland, Columbus and Cincinnati R.R. VICTOR H. COFFMAN, M.D. was born Sept. 10, 1839 near Zanesville, Ohio. Lived in Perry County, Ohio until 10 years of age. Later went to Piatt Co., Ill. and to Indianola, Iowa. Served at asst. surgeon in 34th Iowa Inf. Went to Omaha, Nebraska in 1867 and married Miss Rose Devoto in 1879. Had son Weir D. J.E. CRAMER was born in Xenia, Ohio, July 12, 1846. Went to Indiana and Champaign Co., Ill. He served in Co. B, 35th Regt Ill. Vol. Went to Nebraska in 1871. Served in Nebraska State Legislature. GEORGE N. CRAWFORD was born in New York City, May 4, 1825. Here in 1866. He married at Bellefontaine, Ohio to Josephine Janney of Logan Co., Ohio. Had Frank and Skiles. EDWARD CREIGHTON born in Barnesville, Ohio in Belmont County, Aug. 31, 1820. His parents were Irish immigrants. They were married in St. Mary's Church in Philadelphia in 1811. Shortly they moved to Ohio and there most of their 9 children were born, Edward being the 5th. They were ardent Catholics. In 1830 they moved to Licking Co., Ohio between Newark and Somerset. Edward married in 1856 to Miss Lucretia Wareham in Dayton, Ohio. In 1856 he came to Nebraska for the first time. (There is much history of E. Creighton here) ALEXANDER DAEMON was born in Hesse-Darmstadt, Germany, Nov. 1, 1842 and came to Cincinnati, Ohio in 1857. He served in Co. G, 9th Ohio Inf. He married in Cairo, Ill. in 1865 to Miss Rosina Olthus who was born in Holland. Have 4 children. Went to Omaha, Nebraska in 1869. Children were Wilhelmina, Edward, Rosina and Anna. GEN. GEORGE E. CROOK was born in Wayne township, Montgomery Co., Ohio Sept. 8, 1830. Served in 36th Ohio Vol. and appointed Major General later. C.H. DEWEY born in Kennebec Co., Me. When one year old removed to Ohio and was reared there. Later went to Calif., Iowa and Colorado. In 1865 to Nebraska. HON. GEORGE W. DOANE, atty, was born in Circleville, Ohio Dec. 16, 1824 and reared there. Graduated at Marietta College in 1845. Went to Nebraska in 1857. He married in Keokuk, Iowa in 1859 to Emily R. Greenhow of Vincennes, Ind. Had Cora, Guy, William, Cornelia and George Jr. To Omaha, Nebraska in 1864. FRANK M. DUTTON born in Tuscarawas Co., Ohio in 1851. To Omaha, Nebraska in 1878. JOHN FOX born in Salem, Licking Co., Ohio Nov. 23, 1852. To Omaha, Nebraska in 1858. J.S. FRUEHAUF born in Moravia, Austria, July 16, 1837. Came to U.S. in 1866. To Omaha, Nebraska in 1868. (not in Ohio) CHARLES L. FRITSCHER born in Germany in 1841. To U.S. in 1854. To Nebraska in 1867 and married there in 1869 to Mary J. Schneider a native of Ohio. Had 4 children. JOHN B. FURAY born near Hillsboro, Highland Co., Ohio. His parents came from Ireland. Served as 1st Lieut. of Co. G, of 11th Ohio Cav. and later was made Adjutant. Went to Nebraska in 1866. To Seneca Co., Ohio with parents in 1856 and to Nebraska in 1871. He married in 1876 Sadie Root. Had 2 children. F.P. GRIDLEY born in Parkman, Geauga Co., Ohio Apr. 10, 1854, went to Omaha, Nebraska with parents in 1865. He married near St. Louis, Mo. in 1880 to Miss Sarah K. Hill. Had daughter Mary. JAMES U. GRIDLEY was born in Manlius, Onondago Co., N.Y. Aug. 2, 1820. He removed to Hiram, Portage Co., Ohio and to Cleveland, Ohio in 1860. In 1865 went to Omaha, Nebraska with his parents. He married in 1845 in Parkman, Geauga Co., Ohio to Mary Baldwin, born in Frankfort, Herkimer Co., N.Y. Had Flora C. Finley Payne, James U. Jr, Charles and Frank Baldwin. LEWIS A. GROFF was born in Wooster, Ohio Dec. 31, 1841. He went to Lincoln, Nebraska in 1870, then to Omaha. He married in Lincoln in 1868 to Mary E. Gregory and had Mary, Francis, Dorothea, Gregory and Alice. Member of Unitarian Church. ALBERTUS F. GROSS was born in Marion, Ohio in 1849. In 1879 went to Omaha, Nebraska. CHARLES H. GUION was born in Cincinnati, Ohio, Nov. 2, 1839. Served in Co. D. Ohio Vol. Went to Omaha, Nebraska in 1867. He married Harriet Pounsford of Cincinnati, Ohio in 1866. Had son Arthur. CHRISTIAN HARTMAN was born in New York City, May 7, 1844. Went to Omaha, Nebraska with his parents in 1856. He married in Omaha in 1865 to Sarah Arnold of New Castle of Coshocton Co., Ohio. They had Laura, Fred and Arthur. IRA P. HIGBY born in in Glen Falls, N.Y. in 1848; went to Omaha in 1864. He married in 1872 to Miss Clara Landon who was born in Ohio. GEORGE E. HUBBARD was born in Poland, Ohio in Oct. 1837. He served in 1st Regt Ohio Art. He went to Nebraska in 1866. He married Anna Loveday born near St. Joe, Mo. JOSEPH D. ILER was born at Wooster, Ohio. After short stay at Tiffin, Ohio he went to Nebraska in 1867. He married Georgia M. Gray in 1880, a New York native. REV. JAMES W. INGRAM born Unionville, Union Co., Ohio on Aug. 31, 1838. After a stay in Iowa he went to Nebraska in 1878. MARTIN ITTNER a native of Lebanon, Warren Co., Ohio. He went to Missouri in 1844 and in 1878 to Omaha, Nebraska. He married in 1860 Martha E. Moeller of Hesse-Cassell, Germany. They had Henry, John, Walter, Arthur and Mary. JESSE H. LACEY born in Cadiz, Harrison Co., Ohio July 8, 1826. In 1859 went to Nebraska. He married in Falmouth, Pendleton Co., Ky. to Katherine T. Miser from Zanesville, Ohio. NORMAN A. KUHN born in Hanover, Columbiana Co., Ohio Mar. 15, 1854 then moved to Salem, Ohio. He went to Omaha, Nebraska in 1879. He was a druggist. GEORGE BAKER LAKE born Greenfield, Saratoga Co., N.Y. Sept. 15, 1826. His parents were natives of the Empire State, descendants of old English Puritan stock. His mother Nancy Williams was a descendant of Roger Williams. His father was Walter C. Lake. They had 6 children. Both parents died when he was very young. His father removed to Ohio just a few months before his death. George studied law in Elyria, Ohio. He married in 1851 to Miss D.A. Poppleton in Belleville, Ohio and had son George. She died in 1854. He married a cousin of his wife in 1856 and had a daughter Carrie. This wife died in 1860 and in 1861 he was married to Miss Abby Hays and had a daughter Mary. She was a Chicago native. JOHN LOGAN was born in Frankfort, Ohio Jan. 15, 1818. He located in Illinois and Colorado before going to Nebraska. He married in 1842 to Rosanna Kellogg who was born in Keoga, N.Y. who died in 1850 leaving a daughter. He married in 1865 to Caroline C.
