They had Edward, James, Charles, John, William, Mary and Emmet. J.H. McGUIRE, R.R. conductor, born in Eaton, Preble Co., Ohio, Nov. 22, 1849. He went to Omaha, Neb. in 1880. He was married in Eaton, Ohio in 1880 to Maria Evans of Eaton. JOHN A McSHANE born in New Lexington, Perry Co., Ohio, Aug. 25, 1850. Went to Omaha in 1871 and married there in 1876 to Mary M. Lee of Illinois. Had Edward and John. T.A. McSHANE was born in Perry Co., Ohio, July 16, 1848. Went to Omaha in 1871. He married in Perry Co. in 1877 to Celia Taggart. Had Thomas and Alice. Catholics. F.J. McSHANE born in southern Ohio in 1853. Went to Nebraska in 1874. JOHN MAHANNAN, builder, born in Cadiz, Ohio in 1853. Went to Omaha in 1879. GEN. CHARLES F. MANDERSON, attorney, born in Philadelphia, Feb. 9, 1838 and went to Canton, Ohio. He served in Co. A, 19th Ohio Vol. Inf. He married in 1865 to Rebecca S. Brown, a native of Canton and daughter of James D. Brown, a prominent attorney. Went to Omaha in 1869. WILLIAM A. MARLOW was born in Mansfield, Richland Co., Ohio, June 27, 1837. He served in Co. B, 163rd Ohio National Guard. To Nebraska in 1870. REV. DAVID MARQUETT, minister of M.E. Church. He was born in Clark Co., Ohio. Went to Nebraska in 1865 and 1879. He married at Plattsmouth, Nebraska Huldah Montgomery in 1866, a native of New York. JOHN REID MEREDITH was born in Gettysburg, Pa., Apr 15, 1820. His parents were old residents of that town. He removed with them to Pittsburgh, Pa. in 1832. He studied law in Steubenville, Ohio, and taught school there at Academy for Boys. He went to Omaha in 1857. In 1852 he married Annie M. Collier, eldest daughter of his law preceptor. F.M. MOORE, railroad mail clerk was born in Butler Co., Ohio, Sept. 16, 1847. He served in Co. B, 62nd Ohio Vol. Inf. J.W. MORSE was born in Panama, N.Y. Feb. 21, 1837. He married in Portage Co., Ohio and had Emma, Bessie and Mamie S. In 1876 moved from Nebraska to Chicago. M. PARR, druggist was born in Cincinnati, Ohio Feb. 9, 1842. Went to Omaha in 1872. He was member of IOOF Lodge. He married in Omaha in 1873 to Mrs. Helen M. McIntosh of Michigan. She had a child by her former husband William McIntosh. JAMES PORTER PECK, M.D. born in stow Twp., then Portage County, now Summit Co. Oct. 11, 1821. When young his parents moved to Hudson and then in 1833 to Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio. He studied law in Chillicothe, Ohio and studied medicine in Akron, Ohio. He married Elizabeth H. Ames, daughter of Elijah Ames of New London, Conn. in Cleveland, Ohio. In 1856 with wife and 2 sons he removed to Omaha, Nebraska. He had sons Edward P. and William. William died in 1857. HON. JOHN I. REDICK was born in Wooster, Ohio July 9, 1828; attended Delaware College, Delaware, Ohio. He practiced in Supreme Court of Ohio. He later went to Lansing, Mich. He married Mary E. Higby of Pittsburgh and in 1856 he removed to Omaha. In 1866 he married his 2nd wife Mary E. May and had 3 boys. SAMUEL E. ROGERS went to Nebraska in 1854 and was a member of the Legislature. He was born in Flemingburg, Ky. Feb. 11, 1822. He married at Clinton Co., Ind. in 1844 to Martha Brown, a native of Oxford, Ohio. They have son Godlove and daughter Dorcas. He was President of Rocky Mountain Mining Co. ANDREW ROSEWATER born in Buckowan, Bavaria Oct. 31, 1848. Came to Cleveland, Ohio with his parents. He went to Omaha in 1864 and was City Engineer. THOMAS O. ROSSITER born in County Wicklow, Ireland, Oct. 31, 1845. He located in Cleveland, Ohio. He came to Nebraska in 1870. Served in 7th Ohio Cav. He married in 1868 to Lucy Carter who was born in 1850 at Quebec. Had 5 sons and 1 daughter. REV. M.F. SHINN was born in Hillsboro, Highland Co., Ohio Jan. 3, 1809. Later he went to Kentucky and Jackson, Ohio where he married Sarah H. Holcomb. His wife died in 1839 in Van Burean Co., Iowa. He then married in Birmingham, Iowa to Nancy Moffett, a native of Kentucky. Had a son Stephen D. Shinn. To Nebraska in 1853. E. SIMON born in Hungary, Austria Sept. 25, 1840. Came to U.S. in 1860 and located in Cleveland and Toledo. In 1865 married Fanny Gladstone. To Nebraska 1838. N.J. SMITH was born in Ohio in 1837. He went to Michigan in 1854 and to Nebraska in 1864. He married in Hudson, Michigan in 1858 to Miss J. Benedict. Had 6 children. C. SPECHT was born in Germany in 1847. Came to U.S. in 1861 and located in Cincinnati, Ohio where he married in 1877 to Carrie Geyser of that city. 1880 to Nebraska. S.B. STALEY born in Montgomery Co., Ohio Apr. 25, 1843. He married in Montgomery Co., Ohio to Asenith Greist. She died leaving son Winfield. To Nebraska in 18-6? JOHN F. STALEY born in Miamisburg, Ohio July 6, 1845. Served in 11th Ohio Inf. Went to Omaha, Nebraska in 1870. He was a locomotive engineer. ROBERT M. STONE born in Eaton, N.Y. Feb. 4, 1847, moved to Cincinnati with parents in 1843 and then to Lebanon, Ohio, later to Granville, Ohio. He served in U.S. Navy. He married at Bucyrus, Ohio in 1868 to Mary J. Reicheneker a native of Ohio. Had daughters Letta and Sadie. To Nebraska in 1880. 2 daughters. C.L. STRAIGHT in Moscow, Clermont Co., Ohio Aug. 9, 1844. Went to Nebraska in 1872. He married in Omaha in 1877 to Helen Pepper born near Brookville, Ky. 2 Children. MISS KATE C. VEIRS, dressmaker, came from Ohio to Nebraska with her father, Thomas Veirs, among the early settlers of Douglas County. He died here in 1876. WALTER WALKER was born in steubenville, Ohio. Came to Nebraska in 1855. Served in Co. D, 2nd Nebraska and later in Co. I, 1st Nebraska. In 1865 he married Rachel Veirs whose people came here early from Ohio. Have daughter Anna. WILLIAM WALLACE born in Summit Co., Ohio May 1, 1841. Removed to Canton, Ohio. Served in 4th Ohio Vol. Inf. Went to Omaha in 1865. WILLIAM WARD born in Lincolnshire, England, June 15, 1828. Came to U.S. in 1858 and located in Chillicothe, then to Illinois, Ind. and back to Cincinnati, Ohio. He married in Chillicothe, Ohio to Mathilda Augusta Slatter who was born in Oswego, N.Y. Went to Omaha in 1866. Had William, Rosa, Arteman, Ernest. HARRY M. WELLS was born in Cincinnati, Ohio Aug. 29, 1860. Went to Omaha 1881. JOHN T. WERTZ was born in Ohio and reared here. In business in 1876 at Dalton, Ohio. Went to Omaha in 1879. HON. J.L. WEBSTER was born near Fairview, Harrison Co., Ohio in Mar. 1847. He served in 167th Ohio Inf. He married at Belle Vernon, Pa. in 1868 to Josie Watson of that place. Had daughter Flora. Later went to Nebraska. He was an attorney. JOHN ZEHRUNG born in Delaware Co., Ohio Feb. 15, 1831. He married in 1854 to Mary E. Connell of Norwich, Conn. Had son Frank. To Nebraska in 1869 from Iowa. S.W. BALLENGER was born in Brown Co., Ohio in 1824. Later went to Illinois with his people. He went to Nebraska in 1866. In 1861 he married Angeline M. Kapp who was born in Indiana and reared in Iowa. They had 3 sons and 3 daughters. DANIEL CLIFTON was born in Pickaway Co., Ohio in 1832 and went to Nebraska in 1853. In 1850 he married Abitha Alkier, born and reared in his native county. She died in 1873 leaving children William, Henry, Charles, Joseph, Harvery and Molly. In 1873 he married Mary Crosby who was born in N.Y. and reared in Wisconsin. They had John, Hannah, Lucy and Daniel. WILLIAM N. REEVES was born in Omaha Oct. 2, 1854 and was first settler's child born there. In 1876 he married Elizabeth Sumner, a native of Iowa. They had 2 daughters Olive and Clara. He was son of Jesse Reeves born in N.C. in 1832 and reared in Illinois. Went to Nebraska in 1854. He married Elizabeth Barlow who was born in Ohio 1837 and reared in Iowa. They had William, Jesse, Sophrono and Ida (Livingston). J.W. STEWART was born in Sidney, Shelby Co., Ohio in 1832. later he removed with his parents to Champaign Co., Ill. In 1868 he married Mary Crook of N.C. They had Francis and Elizabeth. He served in 3rd Colorado Cavalry. 1870 to Nebraska. WILLIAM DOWLING was born and reared in Bedford Co., Pa. and went to Nebraska in 1856. In 1853 he married in Cincinnati, Ohio to Sarah J. Miller born in Indiana and reared in Ohio.
