In the list below, does anyone know where Goodman's Corners is? Just curious as I live right by N. Carpenter and have never heard that one before. Amber Dalakas am1@stratos.net P.S. They also ran some old meeting minutes from the early 1900s for the Brunswick Township (City) school board meetings. ****************************** SCHOOL DISTRICTS CLOSE TO HOME Where were the nine local schoolhouses in Brunswick before they were consolidated into one district? Brunswick Historial Society member Ellen Gibbs compiled this list of the old school districts in town: *No. 1 was located at the center of town, around the circle at what is now Routes 303 and 42. That building burned down several years ago and was replaced by the strip mall which now houses Tiffany's. *No. 2 was located at what was called Linseder's Corners at Marks Road and Route 303. That building remains as part of a home on Marks Road. *No. 3 was located about a mile and a half north of the center, near Boston along Pearl Road. *No. 4 was at Sleepy Hollow on Pearl and remains today as a home which is next to the business at the corner of Sleepy Hollow and Pearl. *No. 5 was located at Bennett's Corners on West 130th St. and is the residence of the pastor of Bennett's Corners Community United Methodist Church. *No. 6 was on North Carpenter Road at a spot known as Goodman's Corners. *No. 7 was located at Laurel and Carpenter Road abutting proprety owned by the Chidsey family. *No. 8 was located at Substation and Grafton Road and was known as Stop 66 by students because it was the Interurban trolley's stop 66. *No. 9 was at Sherman's Corners which is now the intersection of Route 303 and West 130th St. ------------------------------ X-Message: #2 Date: Thu, 24 Jun 1999 11:50:22, -0500 From: AUPQ38A@prodigy.com (MRS GINA M REASONER) Subject: MEIGS CO.
