David & Mahala had: Mary, James, Minerva, Joseph, Albert, John, Stephen, Howard, Irene, Alice, Franklin and Anna. Some children removed to Illinois. Here 1845 and married 1st Elizabeth Davies and had David born 1831, Mary, Sarah and Elizabeth. He married 2nd Mary Davies and had one child, deceased. He married 3rd, 1866, Margaret Herbert, born in Wales March 1840 and had David, Rachel, Samuel, and Annie. Margaret was daughter of David and Mary (Evans) Herbert of Wales. Guthrie born here February 21, 1836, daughter of Augustus S. and Cynthia (Knowles) Guthrie, here 1832. Frances had brother Sidney in Civil war. They had Lottie, Edwin, Marion, Herbert, Bernice. GREEN, Alonzo J. - Born Madison, Ind. 1845, son of Oliver H. and Margaret (Lasher) Green. He married 1st Sarah P. Parker and had Norma and Wm. He married 2nd Julia C. Shaw born Meigs Co., Ohio, 1852, daughter of Jaben and Elizabeth (McClure) Shaw and had Lynn and Edna. GUTHRIE, Truman Sr - Born January 14, 1765, Washington, Litchfield, Conn. To Ohio 1788, married 1796 Elizabeth Stone of Washington Co., Ohio and had 7 sons. Elizabeth daughter of Israel Stone and 1st wife Lydia Barrett who had 11 children. Israel married 2nd widow Connor. GUTHRIE, Truman - Born January 14, 1765, Washington, Conn. About 1710 Robert and James Gutherie, 2 brothers from Scotland to Pa. and brother John to Conn. John married Miss Cone and had John, James, Wm. Joseph, Ephriam, Ebenezer, Mary, Abigail, Sarah and Lydia. Son Joseph married widow Cary nee Carpenter and had Truman and Abigail. The widow Cary had 3 sons and 1 daughter. Joseph married 2nd widow Curby nee Hand and had Stephen, Eliza and Joseph. The widow Curby had 1 son and 3 daughters. Joseph married 3rd the widow Cogshall and had Abigail and Amy. Joseph came from Conn. to Ohio and settled in Troy, Athens Co., Ohio where he died 1808. Truman and brother Stephen came to Marietta 1788 and Truman married Eliz. Stone of Washington Co., Ohio 1796. Elizabeth Stone was grand daughter of John Stone born Mass. of Welsh descent who had 2 sons and 5 daughters. The youngest son Israel (her father) married Lydia Barrett and had Sardine, Elizabeth, Matilda, Jasper, Lydia, Augustus, Israel, Franklin, Columbus, Mary and Harnet. Israel married 2nd widow Connor and English lady and had John Brodherst Stone. HILL, Henry F - Born here June 25, 1848, son of Edward Wiley and Sarah (Coverston) Hill. He married Percy A. Tracy born Jackson Co., Ohio 1852, daughter of Daniel and Mary (Keck) Tracy. Had Charles and Anna. HALLIDAY, Samuel - Born October 17, 1799, County Dumfries, Scotland, son of Alex. and Jean (Halliday) Halliday. He married 1st Eliza Wyatt born April 7, 1805, Meigs Co., Ohio who died 1861. They had Alex., Wm P., Jane, Samuel, Edwin, Eliza, Henry, Thomas and Mary. (some moved to Cairo, Ill. and Mo.) He married 2nd 1866 to Jennie S. McKnight born December 9, 1831, New Brunswick, British America, daughter of Thomas and Jean (McMaster) and widow of James Braley, and had daughter Anna 1868. James E. Braley (the 1st husband) born Rutland, Meigs Co., Ohio December 10, 1828, son of Ruel and Scynthia (Rathburn) Braley. James and Jean Braley had Emma, Willis, Willie, Sarah, James and John. James died 1864. HAMILTON, Asher B. - Born Columbiana Co., Ohio September 21, 1833 son of James C. and Eliza (McGhee) Hamilton who came here 1834. He married Emily Kent born here 1815. They had Ella, Frank, Edwin, Homer, Emma. HOLCOMB, Samuel R. - Born here September 7, 1820, son of Abner J. and Ann S. Holcomb who came here 1817. He married Catherine Dickey born Pa. May 7, 1820 daughter of Samuel Dickey. HOLCOMB, Edward T. - Born here January 1, 1822 son of Samuel R. of Columbia co., N.Y., here 1805, and his wife Sarah Ewing. Samuel and Sarah had 10 children. He died 1867 age 90 and she died 1850. Edward T. married Elizabeth Mitchell 1842, a native of England, daughter of John and Mary Mitchell, and had Victoria, Chauncey, Elizabeth and Walter. Their son-in-law C. Fogg in Civil war. HANNAN, Wm. F - Born October 30, 1827 this county son of Henry and Catherine (Madison) Hannan, here 1819. Henry born 1796, died 1852. Wm F. married 1857 Matilda C. Grayum born October 28, 1828 of Meigs Co., daughter of Chas. and Martha (Vanzandt) Grayum and have four daughters. HANNAN, Henry H. - Born February 7, 1844, son of Henry and Rhoda (Henderson) Hannan, here 1819. Henry died 1852 and Rhoda died 1879. Henry H. married Sarah Arbuckle born Greenbrier Co., W.Va. January 4, 1845, daughter of James H. and Mahal F. (McPherson) Arbuckle, Henry and Sarah had 5 children. HOLLEY OR HALLEY, Henry - Born here April 11, 1827, son of Samuel and Letta (Thomas) Holley, here 1820. Samuel born May 11, 1799, died 1882; Letta born 1804, died 1869. Henry married 1852 Anna Sheets born September 9, 1829, daughter of John and Susan (Henry) Sheets, and had 8 children. Samuel and Letta had 5 sons in Civil war: Wm., James, Samuel, Benjamin and Cornelius. HALLEY, Ross - Born August 5, 1854, son of Wm. and Caroline (above) married in Lawrence County 1875 Melissa Phillips born March 14, 1858, daughter of Solomon Phillips born 1825 and wife Elizabeth (Shafer) born 1835 in Germany. HARBOUR, Richard - Born February 25, 1824, son of Benjamin and Elizabeth (Runels) Harbour, here in 1811. Benjamin died 1874, Elizabeth died 1860. Richard married 1845 Clarinda Stover born August 3, 1823, daughter of Elijah and Mary (Scarbery) Stover, here 1812. Benjamin died 1824, Mary died 1842. Richard and Clarinda had 9 children. Son Thomas went to Iowa. HESSON, John - Born April 5, 1814, of Belmont Co., Ohio son of John and Jane (Radden) Hesson. John married 1847 in Belmont Co., Maria J. Pryor, born April 15, 1817, daughter of Isaac and Lucy (Richardson) Pryor. John and Maria had 9 children. Son William in Civil war. HOBBS, Elisha - Born April 27, 1793, Randolph Co., Va. son of Timothy and Hannah (Bell) Hobbs, here 1800. Elisha in War 1812. He married 1st Hannah Francis of New York City and had daughter Susan born May 1819. He married 2nd Elizabeth Lane, born here July 26, 1810 daughter of Thos. and Sarah Lane. They had 9 children. Daughter Hannah res. in Illinois. HALL, William D. - Born march 15, 1838 in Jefferson Co., Ohio son of William Hall born January 7, 1814 and wife Catherine (Barkhurst) Hall born October 16, 1814. Wm D. married 1st Mary Fox born December 4, 1844, daughter of Ziba Fox born March 6, 1811 and wife Deborah (Bird) Fox born July 19, 1818. Wm and Mary had 7 children. Wm D. married 2nd Sophronia Wiseman born here April 25, 1861 daughter of Andrew and Hannah (Pine) Wiseman here early. Andrew born May 6, 1830 in W.Va., Hannah his wife born November 24, 1831 and died 1863. Wm D. and Sophronia had one son Joseph, 1882.
