Taylor, Jr." Subject: Henry Fix Obit.- Williams Co., OH The Bryan Democrat - January 21, 1886 DIED - Henry George Fix died at the residence of his son Martin Fix in Florence township, Williams county, Ohio, January 5, 1886. He was born in Roppenheim, Alsace, December 25, 1802, married in 1826 to Saloma Glass by whom he had eight children, six boys and two girls, all of whom are living except, perhaps, one son who went to California in March 1863, and who has not been heard from for nearly twenty three years. Henry George Fix moved from Alsace to Wayne county, Ohio in 1843, and a year later came to Williams county where he continued to reside until his death. VIVIAN SIMPSON With Williams and McNabb morticians in charge, funeral rites were conducted Friday, at 2 p. m., at St. Paul AME church for Mrs. Vivian Gwendolyn Simpson, late of 74 1/2 North 22nd St. Pallbearers were Dr. William C. Anderson, Messrs. John Carr, Jr., Edward L. Ford, Marshall Cobb, J. Ben Turner and John Shepherd. Officiating at the services was the pastor, Dr. A. Sydney King, who read the scripture lesson and gave the invocation and eulogy. Selections were rendered by the senior and Gospel choirs of the church. Miss Blanche M. Van Hook read the obituary. Seated in a body were members of Stewardess Boards Nos. 1 and 2 of the church and Esther Chapter No. 3, Order of the Eastern Star. They assisted in bearing the many lovely floral tributes sent in token of esteem to the deceased. Mrs. Simpson was the daughter of the late John and Elizabeth Hill. She was born Nov. 29, 1892, in Columbus, and after a brief illness, died here July 2, 1951. She was a life-long resident of Columbus and became one of its most useful citizens. She was actively identified with several organizations. When she lived on the Hilltop she was a member of Oakley Av. Baptist church for a number of years, but after moving to the Eastside she joined St. Paul AME church and belonged to the 20th Century club of the church. At the time of her demise, she was worthy matron of Esther Chapter No. 3, Order of the Eastern Star, and a member of Alla Baba Court No. 75, Daughters of Isis. Among the survivors are her husband, Junius Simpson of Columbus, whom she married 15 years ago; a daughter, Mrs. Phyllis Robinson of Los Angeles; two sisters, Mrs. Frances Whittington of New York, N. Y. and Mrs. Eula Lyman of Chicago; two brothers, Lawrence Hill and Leslie Hill, both of Columbus; five nieces, Mrs. Anne Blakemore of Cleveland, Mrs. Dorothy Madison, Mrs. Marie Louise Butler, Mrs. Ida Mae Lambert and Miss Jean Kathryn Hill, all of Columbus; other relatives and a host of friends.
