Vern Hall (a great grandson of Bert and Grace) email inquiries welcome ------------------------------ X-Message: #3 Date: Fri, 28 May 1999 10:13:52 -0400 From: David Zimmerman Subject: Remember our Veterans The following message is from a great lady. Also go over and check out my Memorial Day site at http://www.infinet.com/~dzimmerm/Md/h1index.html and it will take some time to load but it is worth it. -------------------------- With the upcoming Memorial Day weekend approaching quickly, talk to your elders and get their info, manage somehow to spread alittle love and appreciation for all Veterans fallen and retired. Don't just sit back and enjoy the old BBQ,talk to your family and loved ones, enjoy the memories of the past. That's the way a real geneologist should work, take account of the events by memorializing them with a videotape of the days events, take pictures and sound recordings.(You won't regret it). Let them tell you about their days in WWI,WWII,Korean,Vietnam, and Desert Storm. Have them bring out those old pictures of them in uniform;sitting around the tent or on the deck with their buddies, who may have passed away. War is a terrible thing, but we must overcome our worst enemy-Fear. The best way that I know how is to talk about it. Go out to the cemetery and clean up the sites and ponder a few moments to reflect upon the wonderful achievements these citizens have gone through for these United States. Remember those parades we used to watch as children, how about those memorial services our parents used to make us go to when we had know idea what was being said. Now as we have matured into adulthood-Well at least some of us. Let's bring our children and grandchildren to those parades, let us remember them and have our children and grandchildren feel the energy and appreciation that our parents have instilled in us,so that they too will remember our energy and appreciation for those who help keep these United States a loving and great nation.
