Mr. Stone, was found dead seated in a chair, was last seen alive at 1 pm. A resident of Canton since 1918, Mr. Stone retired two years ago. A native of Salem, Mr. Stone was a veteran of World War. I. He was the son of the late Stephen and Jane Stone, and was a member of the Eagles Lodge in Canton. He is survived by another brother, Darwin E Stone of Westville Lake and a sister, Mrs. Edith Flowers of Los Angeles, Calif. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am Thursday at the Whitticar Funeral Home in Canton in charge of Rev. P.H. Welshimer, pastor of the First Christian Church of Canton. Friends may call from 7 to 9 pm Wednesday at the funeral home. Interment will be made in the Soldier's plot in Forest Hill Cemetery in Canton. Father Is Dead Chester Stone, 68, father of William and Shelly Stone of Alliance, died at his home in Los Angeles, Cal., Monday night, according to word received here today. Mr. Stone, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Stephen Stone, was born and reared in Salem. Most of his life had been spent in the west. Surviving are his widow and three sons and these brothers and sisters, Volney Stone, Orville; William and Shelly Stone of Alliance; Hugh Stone, of Youngstown and Darwin Stone, Mrs. Charles Hineman, Mrs. Homer Dunn and Mrs. David Fogg, of Salem. [Note: Some of this information is inaccurate. Chester was brother to William and Shelley Stone.
