The 1850 Morrow County Census has them as neighbors. In the census Klinefelter is spelled as Clinefelter(wrong). I have typed the letter exactly as it was. Also--I believe that Joshua Dickerson was bitten by a rabid dog according to a Dickerson kin Email. Leah moved to Putnam County, OH October 23, 1859 Dear and much esteemed friends. it is with pleasure that I would write a few lines to inform you that we are all witell at present hoping that these few lines may find you and yours enjoying the same blessing. it has been a long time since we heard anything from any of you we dont know whether you have entirely forgotten us, or whether you dont think us worthy of the time and trouble of writing to us we all have enjoyed good health for the last few years and do so at this time. but we have had our troubles and trials in life On the 19th of last month we were called uppon to witnefs the Death of our dear and only Daughter Georgiana, she was at home with us all last winter, about the first of April. She was taken with a severe cough, we did not think anything serious would result from it. toward the last of April She moved with her husband down to Brownsville Licking County ohio about 70 miles South of us she still continued to grow worse(John being there) still wrote to us how she was getting along. her mother went down to see her. on the 13th of August. she remained there about 15 days when she returned home and brought her along with ther she still continued to get worse, untill the 19th of September when she breathed her last at about 15 minutes past 11 eleven oclock in the evening, her disease was the Pulmonary consumption. thus you see she went early in life to the grave, proving this fact that youth is no warrant against the shafts of death, she left a little daughter now between 9 and 10 months old, a fine stout and healthy child, its name is Isadora Catherine, we have the baby at this time. you better think its grandmother is proud of her little "Dora". John is working in licking Co. with Davis. he is running the engine in a steam grist and saw mill. we got a letter from him yesterday he is well Allen Buhl was Buried the day Georgiana died-his desease was Typhoid fever. Joshua Dickerson died last monday evening as to his disease I cant say what it was. Just one week before he died he became deranged so much so that it became necesary to bind him hand and feet, he was at his Brothers from monday untill Thursday when he was brought home. I was with him more or less day and night from the time he was brought home untill hed died, he worked in fits at best three forths of the time , it took 3 or 4 men all the time to attend to him, such a case I never saw and hope nemver to se again his shreak and struggles werer heart rendiang all the time untill about 7 hours before he died which time he lay assleep in which condition he lett the world. Peter Finefrock shot himself last August. cause not known Marth Dickerson and Wm Moor were married a few weeks ago. and moved to Williams Co. Mrs. Bowman has a young daughter a few days old. Sally Ann Bortner and Christina Jeff each had a daughter lately Elizabeth McWilliams had a sone lately you will rite soon yours in love. Calvert - Circleville Union Herald - 1923 In Memoriam - 1923 Editor Union-Herald: - Henry R., son of Jacob R. and Margaret Grant Calvert, was born in Frederick county state of Virginia, July 28, 1852, and died at his late home in Circleville, Ohio July 13, 1923, age 70 years 11 months and 13 days. Of his immediate family, four brothers and one sister are living; George W., John M., Frank E., Charles B., and Mrs. Calvin Prayther. On December 10, 1874, he married Miss Eliza Jane Wilkens and to his union were born five children; three of which preceded him to the other world. Mrs. Blanche Allen, of Circleville, and Barman R. Calvert of Duvall survive both parents, for the mother died some years ago. He was converted many years ago in the Baptist church in Hocking county and transferred his membership to the Morris U. B. church where he remained a faithful member until death. Owing to physical infirmities he retired from farming several years ago purchasing property on East Franklin street, where he made his home being cared for my Mrs. Bertha Calvert until his death. His retirement was due to physical disability and for the past three months he suffered from the result of a fall causing a fracture of the left hip creating a dropsical condition causing his death. As a member of the Morris church he had great interest in her welfare and many times helped beyond the ordinary. The Ladies' Aid will miss his gifts. May others rise to take his place. As a Christian he was unassuming, quiet but interested; as a father beloved, as a neighbor helpful. His name has been mentioned many times during his illness and the help rendered by many friends attest to the esteem in which he was held. Two children, four brothers, one sister, sixteen grandchildren and five great-grandchildren survive him. Card of Thanks. We wish to thank the neighbors and friends who so kindly assisted us during the sickness and death of our dear father, Henry R. Calvert; for the singers for their beautiful songs and to Rev. Weir for his consoling words and also to Fred Clark for his efficient service.
