The fire is said to be the work of an incendiary and a man has already been arrested and lodged in jail , on whom suspicion falls. It appears that he had been loitering about the tavern for a day or two and had been caught in the act of taking liquor out of the bar. for this he was cowhided by the landlord, on whom he threatened to be revenged. Immediately after the fire pursuit was had after him, and he was caught in Waterford, and brought to town. 21 Oct 1841 Died: In Ulhicksville on the 14th inst., Narcissa Clarissa, daughter of Marcus R. and Isabella A. (Thurs). Extracted from Ohio Historical Society microfilm # 34906 4 Aug 1842 OBITUARY:-- Departed this life at his residence in this town, on Sabbath night inst., the 31st of July, the REV. JAMES B. MORROW, in the 46th year of his age. Mr. Morrow was a native of Charleston, Virginia, and emigrated to Canton, Ohio, about the year 1824, where he became established as a preacher of the Gospel of the Presbyterian Church, and for the last 9 or 10 years was located in this town. (NEW PHILADELPHIA). He was an amiable man in his manners--a kind and affectionate husband--and indulgent parent--pious and sincere in his deportment, and beloved by all who knew him. Possessed of great energy of character, and unsurpassed industry, his loss in this community will be long and sincerely regretted. He was the father and founder of the new Presbyterian Church and congregation at Uhrichsville, in this county, also one at Sandyville. And the Presbyterians of this town, and vicinity owe to his energies and perseverance, the formation of the first congregation of Presbyterians, and the building of a first rate new Church, which is now nearly completed--but he did not live to see it finished or to enjoy the glad hopes and happiness, which was contemplated in preaching the gospel of Christ, within its walls, to the unconverted. Providence has decreed otherwise. He is called from this cold world of strife, to one of everlasting happiness. His last illness confined him about 2 weeks in bed, suffering much pain and misery, which he bore with great christian fortitude. He died with perfect composure, perfectly resigned to the will of his Heavenly Father. His remains were removed from this place on Tuesday morning the 2nd. inst., followed by a number of friends and relations to the place of burial at Canton. He has left a kind and amiable wife, and four interesting little sons to lament his loss. His friends and relations have the consolation to believe he is not enjoying the smiles of the Redeemer, in the bosom of his God.
