But it seems the little one managed to follow its parents downstairs unobserved by them, and wandered off through the State Yard. When they returned from church, the child could not be found, and the mother became quite frantic. The policemen were notified, and half the newsboys in the town were engaged in searching for the lost child. Late in the evening the little wanderer was found near Eighth Street on Oak Street where she had been taken and sheltered by some generous family.
