Bennett, departed this life,Feb.1,1913, at 11 o'clock p.m. The subject of this sketch was born in Crawford County Ohio,in the year 1837,January22-being 76 years and 10 days old at the time of his death. He came to Missouri in the year 1869,locating near Millville,and has lived in the same neighborhood since his parents died,when he was young, leaving a large family. He being one of the oldest,he had to be a father to the rest. He married Barbara Thompson about fifty years ago and they lived together until about two years ago when she passed away. He leaves five brothers,one sister and a stepson now of Oklahoma. A better old couple never lived than these two people and to know them was to love them. His ever watch-word was, "to do unto others as you would have others to do unto you. Never were the hungry or needy turned away from his door. Gone but not forgotten,just one loving voice is stilled .Dead? No,just gently sleeping,waiting for the great resurrection morn for his Savior's voice to call him; then he will wear a crown of glory all through eternity.
