I just want to get this out to as many people as I can... I am lookin' for my 2nd gr grandmother's parents... gad, you'd think that a grandmother that close I would know of her..... not so... I have searched for her for 40 years and am no closer to finding her parents/siblings than I was when I found her and her husband in the Mesa, ArizonaTemple LDS library [before Family History center].. I have found a letter written on 9 Aug 1864 from Decatur, Alabama during the civil war.. to a man telling him about his deceased son... and talking about his own deceased brother Charles. I found this letter by accident from a lady who lives in London, England, I live in Brookings, Oregon. Here's my 2nd gr gm Sophia WILLIAMS Sophia WILLIAMS was born 10 Agu 1810 in Connecticut, she md 1834 in Trumbull county, Ohio TO Joshua 4) DAVIS (Joshua 3), Llewellyn 2), Llewellyn 1) DAVIS /ap DAVID) b 22 Sep 1806 Aurelius, Cayuga, New York d 26 Aug 1897 Wheatland, Hillsdale, Michigan They were parents of 8 children: 1. Emma DAVIS b 1835 Burg Hill, Trumbull county Ohio 2. Stanley W DAVIS b 1837 Union Springs, Cayuga, New York Stanley was in the civil war.. Urusla Adelaide DAVIS ( 1st gr gm) b 10 June 1842 Franklin, (now Tecumsea) Lenawee county, Michigan, died 12 July 1907 Hudson, Lenawee, Michigan, md her 1c Orlando Wells HAYNES on 27 March 1866 at Wheatland, Hillsdale, Michigan 5. Maxwell DAVIS b 1844 Franklin, now Tecumsea, Lenawee, Michigan 6. Francis DAVIS b 1846 same as Maxwell 7. Manning DAVIS b 1646 same as above 8.
