Obediah Simpson, 1840 US Census, Trumbull TWP, Ashtabula Co. OH,.  Males 1
(To 5 years), 2 (10-15 years), 2 (15-20 years), 1 (20-30 years), 1 (40-50
years), females 2 (5-10 years), 1 (10-15 years) 1 (30-40 years).

Based on the compiled records of Kate Mayo's book,  Pioneering in the Shadow
of Cahto Mountain First Centennial Edition 1874-1974  ,  deeds in NY, Ill,
CA, and five consecutive US Census Obediah (abt 1797) and Lydia (abt 1802)
Simpson's family consisted of the following children:  James (abt 1820 in
NY), John Pendleton (20 Sep 1822 in NY), followed by 3 additional
unidentified sons born between 1823-1830 in Portland TWP, Chautauqua Co. NY,
Priscilla (5 Oct 1831 in NY), Anne (1832 in NY), Sarah A. (1835 in NY),
Hobart (1838) and Nancy J. (1841).

Oldest son James married Nancy Jane Woodruff (1920 in NY) 24 Sept 1840 in
Ashtabula Co. OH.
