charset="iso-8859-1" >From the News and Herald, Cleveland, Ohio Thursday March 6, 1890 The Funeral Services of Miss Mabel E. Bradshaw Held Yesterday Afternoon at Her Father's Residence The funeral services of Miss Mabel E. Bradshaw took place at the family residence, No. 762 North Logan Street, yesterday afternoon at 2 o'clock. A large number of sympathizing friends were present and Dr. H. M. Ladd, of the Euclid Avenue Congregational Church, of which the deceased was a member, conducted the services. He spoke very tenderly from the words in John xiv., " I will not leave you comfortless,"etc. A male quartet composed of Messrs. F. L. Ford, G. J. Hardway L. I. Metcalf and W.G. King rendered two selections, "Thy Will Be Done" and "One Sweetly Solemn Thought", in a very impressive manner. Beautiful flowers were placed about the casket, among which was a loving tribute from Miss Bradshaw's Sunday school class. After the services the body was borne to and placed in a vault at lake View Cemetery, the following named gentlemen acting as pall-bearers: Messrs, Frank P. Hart, W. G. King, G. J. Hardway, James R. Post, T. H. Heward, and Lyell C. Burridge. Miss Bradshaw was born in 1857 and came to Cleveland with her parents when she was about twelve years old, the family residence since about 1869, being at the East End. Mr. Bradshaw is a well-known citizen in that part of the city, where the daughter was endeared to a large circle of friends by the purity of her life and her devotion to the good of others. She was very active, earnest, and successful in church and Sunday school work, and her ambition to do good on these and other lines finally led her to accept in 1881, a position as teach in the Institute for Feeble Minded Youth in Columbus, O. She faithfully performed the arduous duties of her position in that institution for six years, when failing health compelled her to return to this city. For two years she had been a patient and at times a great suffered from the disease which finally ended her life. -------------------------------- End of OH-FOOTSTEPS-D Digest V01 Issue #56 ******************************************
